On The Street.....Girl On Broome St., Soho

I should call this "Feels Like New York, part 2." Only in New York could a street pretzel be a perfect accessory.

Those metallic pink sandals make her look like a little girl playing with her mom's clothes .
She looks lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 AM) :

Isn't that the model Daisy Lowe?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 AM) :

She's picture perfect, especially with that expression on her face. Love the sandals/tights combination. And the pretzel, too, of course.

Blogger fashion in theory said ... (9:21 AM) :

love the pretzel contrasted with the mostly black ensemble!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

En mi opinión, lo mejor de esta temporada son las medias tupidas como las de esta chica. Irresistibles si se combinan con una sandalias en contraste

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

I'd much rather see her in something besides all black. But, it does punctuate her shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:42 AM) :

Love the coat. LOVE HER SHOES! Luv it, luv it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 AM) :

Love that pop of metallic color!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 AM) :

love the shoes with the black tights. In my line of work (lawyer), I cannot do that kind of thing during the week (unless I want to lose a few clients), but I love the idea.

Blogger Just an Observation said ... (11:40 AM) :

I love the shape of her coat and the way she is wearing her hair is gorgeous...so simple and yet understatedly elegant for everyday.

GRAZIE AGIN SAR!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 AM) :

this makes me miss new york so much.

Blogger hoi polloi said ... (12:23 PM) :

HA! I did the opaque black stockings with metallic sandals look a couple weeks ago, love this look. It feels very 1930's to me

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 PM) :

Indeed, PretzelGirl is well put together. Do hope the high carb meal gave her the energy to rock whatever interview she was on her way to (assumption what with the portfolio and all).

The perfect "petite mademoiselle"...

Blogger Aurora said ... (5:05 PM) :

cute shoes!!! love them!!!

Blogger Alison Santighian said ... (8:22 PM) :

Sart, I beg to differ. There's one other place in the world where a pretzel would be the perfect accessory - Philly.

Blogger .......... said ... (10:23 PM) :

Shoes are adorable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:54 PM) :

the heck with the pretzel, I love her legs, she is a doll.

Blogger Deanna said ... (12:18 AM) :

I love this look, but everytime I try to do something like this, I end up cursing the shoes (and my feet) well before the end of the day. Heels for work (where I sit most of the day) or for night, but all the walking... I can't do it!

Are all these heel-about-town girls just willing to put up with the pain for fashion, or is there some secret I don't know about?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 AM) :

This girl is my new role model. (Just got bangs cut into my hair and I think I could pull this off!)

Blogger Anastasia said ... (2:04 AM) :

oh wow I would never have thought to team metallic pink with black opaque tights especially during the day!!! only a model could pull that off...she looks FAB!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:06 AM) :

actually, pretzels - brezen or brezel, is a very german thing. That could be a very German look, if people were that chic here. Love the look, Love the shoes, Love your blog- its my daily news to update me what is going on back home.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:04 AM) :

There's one more place in the world where it'd go perfectly well together - Krakow, Poland :-) great shot by the way :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:55 AM) :

I am but a humble Mid-Westerner-- I need to know if open-toed sandals with tights is universally accepted or not. If not, what's the rule on that subject?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 AM) :

Where is that coat bought???
I LOVE IT!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:18 PM) :

She really is adorable. I normally would have said "no way" to the tights with open toe shoes (I thought that was a total faux pas) ... but this is proof that "breaking" the rules in the right way is the very definition of fashion! Really cool ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 PM) :

Deanna --
The secret to finding pain-free high-heeled shoes is ..... trying on and "ouch-testing" as many shoes as you need to, to find the ones that pamper your feet. There are no shortcuts. I found a pair of metallic open-toe Aerosoles that look as awesome with tights as the pair in this photo, and they feel so great, you can barely tell you have them on!

...and i totally agree with anon, ... tights can look unexpectedly great with all kinds of shoes.

Blogger Ilona said ... (7:41 AM) :

I thought it was Daisy Lowe too... she looks amazing, like she just threw the outfit on in 5 mins... effortless.

Blogger in defense of retail therapy said ... (7:45 AM) :

really perfect. you'd never see something like that (the sillouette, shoes, and pretzel!) in london. very very new york and fabulous for it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

To me the important thing is that the tights are really opaque. If you could see her toes the look would be all wrong, but she's pulled it off perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:15 PM) :

totally loving the pink shoes with the stockings.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:23 AM) :

cute cute cute .. its a funny thing about the pretzel -
I wonder - maybe I should design some pretzel brooches, scarves, pins, necklaces bags... they may be the next big thing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 AM) :

i think it might be Australian actress Emma Lung, which is funny given the quintessential New Yorkness of the pic...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:49 PM) :

i want the coat! where can i find it? anyone know??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:25 AM) :

whoa, baby. looka t those shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:02 PM) :

pretzel...breakfast at Tiffany's!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:39 AM) :

She used to go to my school shes from here in lonon. Her names Daisy Lowe and she models. Shes the daughter of pearl lowe and gavin rosdale rock and roll chic. Even @ school her outfits were inspiring..........

Blogger jackie said ... (7:39 PM) :
