The Sartorialist - Selected as one of Time Magazines top 100 Design Influencers!
I never officially announced it but The Sartorialist has been given a great honor.
My blog has been named to Time Magazine's list of 100 Top Design Influencers which appears in its new Style & Design issue.
It came out on April 13th but I still have not seen the issue so it doesn't quite feel real yet.
As I write this I am sitting in a little local coffee shop in Koln, Germany.
Notice that the title of the photo is MeKoln not MyColon (two completely different kinds of camera)
I shot in Munich the last two days, Koln today and tomorrow, Berlin and Hamburg next, then on to Sweden.
The weather has been great if a little warm and everyone has been very nice.
I have been very careful not to jaywalk while on this trip!

congratulations! you absolutely deserve it. of course, none of us sartorialist addicts needed time magazine to tell us how inspiring your photos are. but it's always nice to receive appreciation from well-respected and well-established insitutions.
keep it up. there is nothing more inspiring to me than real people in real situations creating very individualistic expressions through their clothes. and you capture it all so brilliantly.

I have to say that as much as I love this blog, and the pictures and the break it gives me from the mundane, what I am constantly impressed and inspired by is what a success you have become, all the while marching (or is it dancing?) to you own tune. There is one perfect spot in Berlin.
The café St.Oberholz, situated on Rosenthaler platz, a square where five roads intersect.
Weinbergsweg/ Kastanienallee, (jokingly called castingallee) pouring young and beautiful creatives into Mitte from Prenzlauer Berg.
Rosenthaler Strasse, drawing the established architechts and intellectuals of Mitte for their cup of Brazilian coffee at Galao on weinbergsweg.
And Torstrasse, where the elderly couples with appartments in Mitte stroll in the sun.
I would love to see the photographs
that could be taken from a moment in the sun at St.Oberholz. The café in itself is interesting too, in that more or less all of the guests bring laptops, to connect to the wireless broadband.
There is, of course, nothing new or shocking about an internetcafé. The enjoyable aspect is the very altmodisch design of the place, spacious and classic.

While I am certain that it is true that your blog inspires many of us to edit our fashion choices a little more critically, the main reason why I click on your site daily-other than a vicarious travel thrill-is really much more fundamental. You know, once you have tried to sketch an apple or a banana you never look at those pieces of fruit the same way. Somehow looking at your photos, specific in time, space, light, color, and personality has made me see those same attributes in my world. So maybe you are not just a "design influencer" but also an "appreciation of design influencer"! Thanks.
