Love the way the little leather vest reigns in the volume of the dress/top. Also, the fish necklace is quirky and cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:36 AM) :

oooh that bag!

Blogger Ryfka said ... (11:57 AM) :

This picture is a masterpiece! Love the model, her clothes, the colors of the buildings and the sky, the wet street, the ambience... everything.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

LOVE IT

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

Balenciaga is a modern classic.

Blogger Núria said ... (1:29 PM) :

I've just discovered your blog, and I really like it!!
I'll keep visiting.

Blogger siongc said ... (1:55 PM) :

Great look. Nice play on proportions. BTW Sart the picture doesn't seem to link corrently to the enlarged version...

Blogger glaceyeux said ... (2:19 PM) :

she looks incredible! and I am in love with that gorgeous balenciaga!

Blogger dnqcnn said ... (2:22 PM) :

that hair!
i would die for a haircut like that..

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:27 PM) :

Great outfit, serene and folksy. Very balance - the bag makes it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:44 PM) :

hmm. not thrilled about this one. it seems a little bit too johnny depp in the pirates of the caribbean for me.

Blogger Noele Lusano said ... (2:54 PM) :

balenciaga weekender? loooove it

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (3:00 PM) :

Love that bag!

Blogger Indulge in Fashion said ... (3:33 PM) :

notice she's not carrying an umbrella

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:43 PM) :

very nice. she knows how to mix and match texture AND color and the application is almost like sculpture, certainly art. nice nice nice.

Blogger Shopaholic D said ... (4:30 PM) :

nice photo...this looks like a shot I'd see in a fashion magazine!

:) D

Blogger Carol Diehl said ... (4:31 PM) :

Great! It's refreshing to see such a stylish look that's so intelligently individual.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:44 PM) :

i don't think i've ever been to soho when it wasn't raining.

Blogger Janet said ... (4:59 PM) :

Her hair is just as well put together as her outfit. I love those bangs. (I'm so glad they're in-vogue again.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:41 PM) :

i like!

Blogger Susan B said ... (7:03 PM) :

I think her big red Balenciaga just makes the whole thing work. But there's also something about how her hair and the shirt echo each other that I can't quite put in words.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 PM) :

i want this ensemble- especially those boots- yes!!!!!

Blogger M said ... (7:12 PM) :

rock on!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:00 PM) :

Fashionably unkempt. I like it all and wonder. . .how much for this look? Each item looks like it could have a considerable price tag (so she's in Soho & looks like a model), and for me, this alone dimishes the overall effect. Maybe I am wrong.

Blogger Real Tears said ... (8:07 PM) :

Love the colours and the proportions!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:29 PM) :

great, great, great. minus the aladdin-esque pants. unnecessary, it wasn't that cold and they ruin the pretty linen white dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:46 PM) :

bo-ring

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:29 PM) :

The lovely Sheila Marquez. You snapped this model in Paris as well - running from a show in a hat and with the same bag.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 PM) :

is that Sheila Marquez?

Blogger Misterparticular said ... (11:41 PM) :

Long live Saint Laurent's Russian peasant collection!

Blogger Diane Dehler said ... (12:19 AM) :

I enjoyed the wide array of fashion statements that you have assembled here.

Blogger Unrequited Love said ... (12:23 AM) :

love everything about it. The hair goes well with the outfit. whether she intended for it or not.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (1:03 AM) :

I love the whole contrast lengths (short vest and long blouse; capri pants and high boots), texture and everything else about her.

I also love her rock & roll hair!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:20 AM) :

she's hot. she looks great but as a whole can we please be done with the boho thing?

Blogger benson said ... (1:24 AM) :

this is one of my favorites..she is just too cool for words.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:12 AM) :

I absolutely love this. Are those APC boots? They work so well with the slouchy bottoms.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 AM) :

is there someone who could possible tell me who's this bag? it is soooooooooooooo cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:03 AM) :

It's great how she intelligently mixes and matches, combinations that I wouldn't have thought of. She pulls it off perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:43 AM) :

What a surprising and pleasant mix of leathers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 AM) :

Hot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:58 AM) :

Sartor,

i know you get alot of (well deserved) praise for the subjects you select but this time around i am compelled to make note of your fabulous photography. I love your shots as much as th clothes in them- thank you and keep up the good work :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:03 AM) :

she's got loads of 'tude

Blogger will anderson said ... (9:55 AM) :

that's an interesting look. i'm not sure that its flattering...but its nice in a way. agree about the vest. its reigns it in, but i'm sure she has a figure under there somewhere, but its a mystery.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:11 AM) :

that bag is the coolest ever.

Blogger fashionnerd said ... (11:31 AM) :

is it time to pull out the balenciaga out already?

Blogger Liz said ... (11:33 AM) :

wowza. when are you having a show so we can purchase your prints?

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (11:56 AM) :

Wow - she looks fantastic! I love, love, love that shirt - the detail on the sleeve is beautiful.

Blogger Susan B said ... (12:21 PM) :

is there someone who could possible tell me who's this bag?

The bag is a Balenciaga Weekender. I'm told the color is probably Rouge Theater from a past season. But Balenciaga always includes a nice red in the collection, so you could probably find something similar that's current.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

like a younger and prettier patti smith. lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

I love that vest. It's so perfect over the flowing blouse. Sart, how do you get a shot like this with no other people in it? It looks like a movie set.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 PM) :

I am not thaaaaaaaat in this one, but the boots are very cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 PM) :

Soho is Soho - after, in or before the rain - in a beauty called Manhattan and this young lady is at one with the place, perfect.
Thank you, Sart, hi!
Cordelia

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 PM) :

I love everything about this. She even manages to make the overly-ubiquitous Motorcycle bag look cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

Totally independent of this woman's style, which is quite interesting proportionally, this photograph is amazing. The color criss-crosses in redgrey gradients; perfect focus. Nicely captured, Scott.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

what a gorgeous red bag. My mother had a similar one when she was young, which she has recently passed on to me. I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:40 PM) :

"IT" from the adams family, a hot version though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:41 PM) :

oh my god this is sooooooo soho!!! YES

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:17 PM) :

Oh, that vest works beautifully in her outfit. She already looks stunning, but I feel that along with the vest, the boots and bag might be overkill with similar textures. Fantastic, though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:25 PM) :

usually hate bags this size, but this looks an ad for that bag - and it actually makes me like it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:05 PM) :

she looks like a poet on her way to a reading. that fish necklace is fantastic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 PM) :

Am I the only person who is just completely bored by the whole "it bag" thing? Apparently, yes.

Blogger lewehrman said ... (11:54 PM) :

A perfect example of one of the best street shows in the world!

I love NYC in the Spring!

Ooh, and Fall, too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 AM) :

This photograph is breathtaking. When I look at it, I almost feel like I am in a dream. It makes the person looking at it feel like they themselves are standing in SoHo after the rain, transporting them to a place more misty and fabulous and mysterious than wherever they are at that moment of viewing. And that is what true art does to those who engage it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:30 AM) :

Hot hot hot! I just love this outfit :)

Amanda ♥

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 PM) :

love the way the colors of the buildings in the background echo the colors the girl is wearing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:19 PM) :

Love this look. It reminds me of ME, without the bag of course. I couldn't pull off the balenciaga weekender....i'm way too short :(

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:20 AM) :

I like this look very much.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:51 PM) :

I love the vest and think that it goes really well with the outfit. Judging by your style I think you would definitely like this international fashion site that I always shop on called www.irepresentfashion.com. It has unique stuff like the things your wearing from designers all over the world. By the way, I love the boots to!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:00 PM) :

sheila probably got the bag for free from nicolas. she is one of the latest muses for nicolas and marie-amelie. she did the last show and also does fittings, etc. she has quite a past if you google her... a great future ahead of her!

Blogger Bel said ... (6:44 AM) :

I clicked on this photo to enlarge it and was blown away - the pose, lighting, background etc are straight off the pages of a glossy fashion bible. Beautifully captured Sart.

Blogger kaś said ... (3:41 PM) :

the fish necklace is such a great detail!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:31 PM) :

What do people carry in such large bags ? Really ?

My bag is huge because I have two small children and a disabled sibling I travel with.....
