She looks like Carine!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 AM) :

i love the pared down simplicity of Nata's outfit and the way she uses only texture to say what she wants. This photo makes me realise i should think more about texture when i chose what to wear, it is something i take for granted and overlook its' importance.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:59 AM) :

That coat is great. And so are the sandals.

She looks like a cross between Jackie O and Carine Roitfeld

Besos!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:17 AM) :

Her hair!

Blogger TMFA said ... (10:22 AM) :

Love her hair and sunglasses and the rest. Would only change the coat for something more special.

Blogger Stephanie Clayton said ... (10:38 AM) :

She makes that coat look so hip & stylish!
I've never been much of a coat fan. I always like the look of a good, classic one in concept...but I never was keen on actually wearing one- too cumbersome. As a kid, I dreaded winter because I was cold, refusing to button up some bulky coat I was forced to wear. Fast-forward to adult years: Not much changed. I never wanted to invest in a good-quality, stylish overcoat--would rather spend the money on killer clothes. After moving to the tropics, the coat issues were forgotten. However, I finally succumbed when my husband kept pointing out the obvious: I needed a good, classic coat because I do actually travel to other climates. I mean really. Everyone needs outerwear. So I bought a gorgeous black cashmere & wool coat. Of course it takes too much room in a suitcase. But I'm traveling to a cold place soon, & actually look forward to wearing it.
Back to the photo: Maybe I'll swing for this type of coat next time. I'm inspired now!

Blogger Aline Dahl said ... (10:44 AM) :

gorgeous picture! clean but chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

much to admire about this shot--the column theme, echoed in the lines of her coat, the perfect brown to wear with black, the way the color of her coat complements her hair.
And who doesn't like a pretty girl with bed-head hair?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

open toed shoes in the winter. that's a bad choice. but apparently i'm the only person who still believes that opened toed shoes and stockings/tights is wrong .

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 AM) :

Yes, guys! Natasha is amaing girl! She is smart, charming, intelligent, beautiful, sexy and very chic! I love your style and perfect look! Kiss-kiss! Dimitri F from Moscow

Blogger 00 said ... (11:44 AM) :

She's got old skool rock chick glamour.

Blogger david santos said ... (11:50 AM) :

Excellent Style! Good creation!!!!
Brilliant!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

How come I wasn't born with those great Bow-y legs too?!! Nice rendering of winter sandals!

Blogger Marat said ... (12:00 PM) :

She's so hot..Love her shearling and shoes

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (12:06 PM) :

good pose!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 PM) :

She looks fun, like she was partying all night and is just making it home the next morning. I agree she looks like Carine.

Blogger Sarah said ... (12:40 PM) :

these shoes, these shoes!! FABULOUS. She looks like Carine Roitfeld!!!(actually just because of her hair)
xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

I've always loved the dress (?), big warm coat, and black tights look in the wintertime. It's such a chic way to stay warm, and I love the proportion. I did, however, comment the same thing on a picture a few months back, and I have to say it again because I truly hope it doesn't catch on or something: Please, PLEASE no open-toed shoes with tights. If you're wearing tights, odds are, open-toed shoes aren't appropriate, and vice versa. I just hate that look, but otherwise the outfit looks very comfortable and very good on her. Although I do have the urge to wash or at least brush her hair. Maybe it was windy?

Blogger CESAR said ... (2:00 PM) :

cool

Blogger Girl Next Blog said ... (3:01 PM) :

Love the coat!

And she looks like Carine Roitfeld.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:09 PM) :

Gorgeous and relaxed. I think open toed shoes with tights look great, after all rules are made to be broken, are they not? It does depend though on how much toe is poking out- peep toes, yes. Sandals, no. And also the opacity of the tights. Opaque tights, yes. Slightly sheer or with toenails visible through the tights, eeergh no!

Blogger Kelly said ... (3:19 PM) :

I love the oversized jacket. If you have the confidence, you can make it work- esp that. Im a big fan of oversized coats, sweaters, shirts. I steal my dad's shirt and put it with a belt, surprisngly it looks chic.

Blogger Dominica said ... (3:33 PM) :

She wears it well and indeed she's the spitting image of Carine R.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:35 PM) :

Bonjour,

I like the dark tights.

Merci, Zoé

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:50 PM) :

really like the feel overall. liked the hair when the pic was small, but in the zoom in it just looks dirty!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:47 PM) :

That girl looks tasty.

Blogger J.A.F. said ... (4:50 PM) :

Love the tights with the shoes, that just makes the whole thing. Oh and that fabulous hair!

Blogger Jason G. Williscroft said ... (5:16 PM) :

Wow, I love the coat! Toggles & tights make a great combo... who knew? :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:12 PM) :

WOW! The first time I have had a visceral reaction to a look in this blog. Not that others haven't been fabulous, fascinating, perfectly stylish, heartwarming or cheering, it's that this one pressed all the right buttons for me. (Except the shoes, I would prefer boots.) Carine, Anouk Aimee, Jackie O and Bjork all alluded to in a very individual package. I want that coat!!!

Blogger Camille said ... (6:28 PM) :

Fabulous messy chic hair with great coat. Stunning!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:53 PM) :

Who is she?
I'm usually in agreement with the Sartorialist and most of the comments, but since when is making yourself into the spitting image of someone else an original or particularly stylish thing to do? She looks like she's trying to look like Carine Roitfeld. And open-toed sandals in the winter can be stylish enough, but nothing to get excited about.

Good coat though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:13 PM) :

It was a long party before that late breakfast meeting...

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:15 PM) :

She looks like she's wearing her boyfriend's coat. It's kind of a 'messy, just got out of bed at my boyfriend's apartment, running late for work', look. I love it!

Blogger Happy Place Design said ... (8:23 PM) :

This looks like her boyfriend's coat.
I love this messy, just got out of bed, running late for work, stole my boyfriend's coat while he was still sleeping, look.

Blogger Shaynuh said ... (8:35 PM) :

The right shades of brown and black always work! She's mastered that and looks effortlessly chic!

p.s. she looks like Katie Holmes

:)

Blogger Gisele said ... (9:17 PM) :

Ms Turovnikova, nice coat!

Blogger Starck Mad said ... (10:26 PM) :

What a GROOVY coat! So graphic, so nice!
Sart.......you SERIOUSLY need to publish a 'coffee table'
book of your wonderful photos.
I'm quite sure Annie L. would write a sterling foreword!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:41 PM) :

Scott, my friends and I read you from Kathmandu. Your one thing that keeps a hip young crowd sane! We had a long conversation over coffee this morning and all came to the conclusion that you have to remain true to your roots. The magazine and modeling stuff is fine, every once in a while, but we LIVE for the Sartorialist because he is the only one that provides a true slice of savvy street fashion.

Blogger spiceamI said ... (12:47 AM) :

Toastie for a cold Moscow winter. The coat reminds me of a comfortable pair of ugg-boots. The look is minimalistic - you can wear it almost anywhere in the world.

Blogger Diana said ... (4:36 AM) :

Ufff, I have a coat similar to this and I had fears, that the cut is perhaps not really up to date for this winter...but you served me the solution :-)))

I wish you Mr Schuman and all the Sart-fans out there a merry xmas and a very happy new year further with great sart-photos, stories, and debates on style.

Diana Gyuró from Hungary (but living in Austria)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:55 AM) :

most of the above are right

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 AM) :

Blogger FASHBASHSOUNDCLASH said ... (8:07 AM) :

Winter chic personified!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:11 AM) :

balance is perfect. adorable comes to mind. love it!

Blogger Rachel said ... (10:24 AM) :

I personally am a big fan of open toed shoes and tights (or lace socks under trousers).

I like the proportions here as well.

Blogger maca** said ... (11:59 AM) :

I really tought she was Carine!
=O

I love the coat!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 PM) :

@Diana: Thank you for the warm wishes. I second them :)

Also, I love this outfit. Minimalism done perfectly. And whoever said black and brown shouldn't be worn together...take a look!

Blogger Dyllard said ... (2:31 PM) :

yay! im glad to finally see someone from moscow who dresses like the rest of us westerners!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:47 PM) :

i love black and brown together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:52 PM) :

Let's face it -- if you look like Nata T., pretty much anything you wear is going to look fabulous. What's the point of fashion if it only assists the gorgeous? It's like medicine that only works if you're not sick.

Blogger SparkleQueen said ... (8:24 PM) :

The proportions really work for her, and those shoes are fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 PM) :

can't believe all the kudos on the hair. my immediate response to this was 1) wash your head, and 2) guess skinny youth gets away with anything. btw, there *are* stylish women of substance out there. would love to see some photos of them...

Blogger LINDSAY said ... (9:29 AM) :

Tights and shoes are FAB!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 AM) :

i LOVE this coat. who makes it?

and to the person who said she is trying to look like carine, i don't think she is trying to look like her -- i think she just does look like her. her clothes aren't carine at all.

Blogger Maggie May said ... (4:47 PM) :

this is awesome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 PM) :

DANGGGGG...thats all i got to say.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:22 AM) :

coat - is great!
love it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

Natalia looks great! Thanks, Sart!

And I must be the only one who thinks she looks NOTHING like Carine but whatever ...

Blogger soph naylor said ... (8:28 PM) :

wonderful shoes. and i don't think she looks like carine either! just not seeing it, haha

Blogger E.K. said ... (11:57 AM) :

This photo is wonderful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:18 PM) :

Love the coat. Would have much rather she paired it with boots. I agree that open toe shoes and tights is not a good look.

Blogger Scent Hive said ... (5:28 PM) :

Why am I the only one not feeling this?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 AM) :

i have been reading this blog for years and have never publicly commented but this image is so moving to me! at first glance, this girl is nothing special-- almost trashy in a giant men's coat-- but next thing you know you're DYING to know what else she can pull together. what else is in her closet? is this outfit actually genious? is she moskow's answer to carrie bradshaw? this girl knows how to create intrigue-- and that my friends is always in fashion.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:45 AM) :

i wish you would have shot her w a video instead...her look would benefit from it as she has looks more dynamic (attitude) than chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

hehe, cute outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

Really far-out coat: charcoal or olive leggings (or whatever they are) would compliment the coat much better. And who's this Carine person you're all talking about? If this gal had her hair in a pixie of bun, she'd look killer. Let's get rid of this obsession with scaggy hair, American ladies: if you've got a pretty face, show it off, don't hide it....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 PM) :

she has appeal that is not defined.
she is wearing nothing spectacular,
yet you want to look at her.
Women have been wearing Carine's do long before she was known.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:08 AM) :

Lovely, there's nothing else to say!

Blogger Ondo Lady said ... (3:17 PM) :

Love the super high heels!! Really like the fact that she is wearing sandals in the winter. Who says sandals are just for the summer.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

ok, i really have to know - i'm going to moscow soon and judging from these images, it does not look that cold. i checked the weather chart and it says it gets way in the minuses (celsius). i have been told to wear tons of layers, possibly sallopettes too! am i going crazy? does anyone know why these models look so warm in tights? (she looks lovely by the way)!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

Humm she resembles Jackie O because of the glasses and her face!
The coat is alright but her legs are not helping too much.. I mean, a pair of pants would look much better, and high heeled brown or black boots!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 AM) :

beuatiful. Love the jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:52 AM) :

mais oui

Blogger Me said ... (10:15 PM) :

Look so CArine LOL...555

Anonymous Anna said ... (5:45 AM) :

she's nice
but i don't like the hairstyle
maybe that's because of the Russian wind haha

are you coming to Moscow this year btw?

Anonymous Kirill said ... (5:37 AM) :

She's great!
