Legs for days. So jealous.

Blogger felicita said ... (2:33 PM) :

so much milan and so little rome! would be funny to see what you find here next time you're in italy. nice work.

Blogger grace e. said ... (2:36 PM) :

reminds me that I need to buy some red lipstick. I feel that this is like a brunette, calmer version of agyness deyn. Love her coat!

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (2:38 PM) :

Amazing how a face can redeem an outfit.

She would look like a bum (in my opinion) if it wasn't for her sharp features, perfect face and that amazing lipstick.

Blogger Kneecoal said ... (2:40 PM) :

Love the hair, lipstick, plaid coat, long shorts, socks over leggings, everything!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:46 PM) :

What a wonderful hairdo. She rocks it so well!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:48 PM) :

I could never pull that off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:48 PM) :

I could never pull that off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 PM) :

lovely!!

Blogger BetwixtandBetween said ... (3:04 PM) :

i love her style...i love what she's wearing underneath the coat aswell!

Blogger Sartorial Vancouver said ... (3:07 PM) :

It is great that the first thing to pop out at me are her red lips. If they were any other shade it would have been the coat.

Blogger BobKentNoVa said ... (3:09 PM) :

I've never seen buffalo plaid look this good before.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:22 PM) :

i always wonder how you know if you want someone to look at the camera or away from it! haha. lovely photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

I'm not sure about this outfit. It's an art student kinda outfit. She looks a bit to mature for it.
And I can't quite figure out what's happening around her feet! Is she wearing socks over those tights?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:29 PM) :

i agree with Wanderlusting... anyone else would look terrible in that outfit. hate it.

Blogger Cassiopeia said ... (3:33 PM) :

Great lippie, great shoes, great combo... Love the rolled up denims. Xxxc

Blogger f2images said ... (3:46 PM) :

There's something very "home cooked" and comfortable about her outfit. I too am jealous of her long legs!! ;)

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (3:47 PM) :

Oh, such a beauty!

I wish there were more girls like this one in my country.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:52 PM) :

Canadian girl in London!! Love it.

Blogger Lindalov said ... (4:00 PM) :

wow, a jump in the '80!

Blogger Stephanie Clayton said ... (4:05 PM) :

i'm not really a fan of this look. she's very pretty, though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:08 PM) :

Hi Sarah Nicole

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:10 PM) :

She looks great! If i had seen each item of clothing individually i would said it could never work but i'm clearly very wrong. The lipstick and sharp haircut are what pulls it together for me.

Blogger Den (næsten) aldrig forlegne said ... (4:22 PM) :

It must be the lips - they make the coat seem so perfect

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (4:29 PM) :

It's one of those looks I have to stop and think about but she pulls this off well with great hair, lipstick and makeup. Oh, and those long legs!!

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (4:32 PM) :

that's a toronto lady! canadian girls.
amazing.
so beautiful

*bisous*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:48 PM) :

Isn't this girl from Toronto? Maybe The Sartorialist should make a visit up this way!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 PM) :

totally love her outfit! gorgeous

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:00 PM) :

A complete homage to 1985.... right down to the capezio dance shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:07 PM) :

London receives so little coverage and we've soooo much potential!!!

Blogger Thomas Modeen said ... (5:10 PM) :

Reminds me of the eighties and girls with 'Bros' haircuts...

Looking good by (Somerset House) North Embankment...

Blogger Tania said ... (5:11 PM) :

the jacket is amazing

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:22 PM) :

Sarah looks beautiful, as always.
Yes, I agree with Randy - you should take a little trip to Canada. I'm sure I can think of another London that might delight your eye.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:40 PM) :

Do you think it make one feel like the world is less crazy when you can connect with your inner lumberjack or fisherman? I like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 PM) :

great look, love the red lipstick.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

Sarah you look so beautiful! love it!

Blogger Enzo AGC said ... (6:14 PM) :

.....won't you come out tonight, AND dance by the light of the moon

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

Love her jacket. :-)

Blogger carli mia said ... (6:38 PM) :

omg! snp!

Blogger anette said ... (6:40 PM) :

So you were seconds away from my workplace? I thought I felt a little vibe in the air! Great work!

Blogger Maria said ... (6:55 PM) :

you know, i agree with everyone in that the whole outfit works.. it's great! but i hate, hate, hate the socks over the tights/leggings. and if her shoes were a little more polished, the way her face/hair is, the whole thing would work so much better!

Blogger lenmeister said ... (6:57 PM) :

She stands out so flawlessly..her striking beauty just adds to the charm of this pic. Just ...wow

Blogger The Spicers said ... (6:58 PM) :

Great look! Love the haircut.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:14 PM) :

HEYYY whats happenin*??? all new yorkers have started to look like europeans! :-D

Blogger Jenn said ... (7:33 PM) :

Why the socks with the tights? That don't make no sense to me. Why not red socks? Just asking. Other than that the look is great, esp the red lipstick, wish I could wear red lipstick!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:45 PM) :

that's sarah nicole prickett!!!

Blogger Chloe said ... (7:45 PM) :

*yanks on own legs hoping desperately that they grow*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:15 PM) :

Hey, that's Sarah from Toronto. How are you doing in Brit-land?

Blogger Cassie Jo - Tofuscloset said ... (8:31 PM) :

lovely red..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 PM) :

she has her own blog called ice age heat wave, this is great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 PM) :

love the red lips with the red coat.

Blogger Bubble said ... (9:13 PM) :

I love the coat...
But I think she's freezing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 PM) :

OK. If you do come to Canada I would definitely skip London, Ontario, contrary to that other poster's suggestion. :) Is no one else seeing a young Julie Andrews in that face? I'm loving the dance shoes paired with the lumberjacket. Growing up in Toronto the boys who hung out in their basements playing Dungeons and Dragons wore coats like that with cutoff jeans. She's really working the 80s with great humour.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:57 PM) :

she's gorgeous but the jean shorts over tights thing has to go! she does it better than most though...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 PM) :

i see lots of celebs trying to do the shorts over tights look and failing miserably. they should take a cue from her. i'm not sure what exactly makes it work but it does

Blogger sisty said ... (11:00 PM) :

THis is so amazing that you're posting this today, because I've been wearing a buffalo checked coat for the past few winters -- it's a real Woolrich hunting jacket complete with gun sleeve in the back. And I love it!

But just the other day I decided to pair it with a bright red lipstick and it changed everything -- from geek-chic to just plain chic! This girl knew it all along!

I get a lot of compliments on it, and I wear it with everything, but it looks best as I did it today with a pencil skirt, black tights, and boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 PM) :

every now and then i catch a glimpse of buffalo plaid and wonder if it could make a comeback. with this photo, this style, the answer is a resounding YES. it's another reinvention that i will try to use myself. thanks sart.

Blogger nothing said ... (11:16 PM) :

I think above all else, I love her hair. <3

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:54 PM) :

She's from Toronto!! Yeah SNP!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 PM) :

We used to call this type of plaid coat "the Kenora dinner jacket."
(Kenora being a small town in northern Ontario, and just north of Minnesota.)

Needless to say, it's been turned into something elegant here, mostly because of those gorgeous looooong legs.
Not sure about the rolled up denim shorts, however.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 AM) :

not too out now this coat?
i'm in love but i think to much for spring look.

Blogger Françoise said ... (1:28 AM) :

My first reaction was, "non j'aime pas ca du tout", but her beautiful legs, her elegance, and her face redeem her and I can appreciate this outfit on her. Anyone else with a less striking physique might look, hmm, average?

Blogger pepastyling said ... (1:55 AM) :

She just stepped out from a Human League video!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:14 AM) :

Yes! 1993 I love it! Finally, a decade we're reminiscing that I was alive in!

Blogger Theresa said ... (2:15 AM) :

great!! I love this jacket and her haircut totally rocks!!

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (2:44 AM) :

Gosh I love her! Her 'don't care what they think' attitute is what makes this outfit work. Those shorts! and those socks! I couldn't wear that.
I love her.
Elizabeth.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:09 AM) :

A little off topic but excited to see that you were right by my office!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:14 AM) :

"KENORA DINNER JACKET" ???

Sounds like one of her friends from WINNIPEG is helping stack up the compliments.

Blogger sasha_skhemka said ... (5:52 AM) :

wow! i like it very much! the girl is very beautiful! she rocks)

Blogger sasha_skhemka said ... (5:59 AM) :

the girl rocks) i like her

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:38 AM) :

Town and country, great look!

Blogger Axel said ... (7:22 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:17 AM) :

In Toronto, we call that a Scarborough Dinner Jacket.

Blogger Romulo Lacerda said ... (9:15 AM) :

Fabulous!

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (9:40 AM) :

Marvellous. Those shoes I bet are comfy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 AM) :

she looks like sharleen spiteri of Texas.

or janine turner.

Blogger Leslie said ... (10:23 AM) :

I think her haircut is superb, great eyebrows too. I think she would look absolutely superb if you replaced the denim shorts with a short, black wool skirt.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:03 AM) :

Yay Toronto! I see her and her boyfriend in my neighbourhood everyday. Congrats!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:04 AM) :

Absolutely fantastic! Love the rock look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

Love the rock look, absolutely fabulously amazing!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

Woolrich has been making this coat since 1830 in Woolrich Pa. USA. BTW you can also get the matching pants and hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:32 PM) :

When you're this pretty, you can wear rags. I agree with Wanderlusting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:06 PM) :

This could be one of the very best ways to wear a winter-y jacket and shorts in the wintertime in LA when there's really no "winter." I see she's layered the buffalo plaid over a blazer. The only thing I'd change to adapt to LA environs is I'd layer a vest instead of a blazer just for comfort's sake.

Blogger Hek said ... (3:32 PM) :

I love this look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

I love everything about this otufit.

Blogger mchl said ... (8:57 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 PM) :

For me, this is like "Blue Denim" - a pretty familiar young look on an extraordinarily pretty, leggy and confident girl.

Blogger J. said ... (10:24 PM) :

AH! you said you don't like London girl's styles? Is this a great change emerging on your blog? I want more London please!

Also, this girl is so insanely beautiful, perhaps perfect?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:25 AM) :

London! Finally! Although you're not the definitive chronicler of fashion, it's great to see something other than bourgeois hunting tweeds. (Why do people wear that in the city?) Take a turn by Copenhagen one of these days for some amazingly eclectic fashion!

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (10:30 AM) :

"Kenora Dinner" jacket is what I've always heard them referred to as well.

I've got another one that I've coined - "the Sudbury Perm" can anyone relate?

From a pseudo-northerner.

Blogger Dija said ... (10:43 AM) :

I met her at L'Oreal Fashion Week back in October and she is so pretty. She was wearing awesome lace tights with ripped denim shorts. I'm definitely going to check out her blog.

P.S. Scott, please come up to Toronto. Fashion week starts March 16th up here... *nod nod wink wink*
