Blogger Unknown said ... (11:28 AM) :

I am having a senior recall memory..LOVE IT..especially the purple kicks (yeah, I'm going old school on you!)..

Anonymous cugi cugi said ... (11:28 AM) :

he's got great sneakers. what a fantastic colour!

Anonymous CakeIsSweet said ... (11:31 AM) :

must. find. those. shoes. anyone know what those are?!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

I love the red bike and the purple shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 AM) :

This dude cuts my hair and is, hands down, one of the flyest guys I know.

Blogger Hannah Stephenson said ... (11:41 AM) :

Great attitude, and purple sneakers!!

Blogger Maggie said ... (11:42 AM) :

the man knows how to dress for his body. love it.

and THANK YOU for not putting up labels, labels, labels. it is such a welcome change. those sprouse LV leggings had me worried...

Anonymous B said ... (11:44 AM) :

I'm from London and this is how we dress - amazing he'd only get away with this in NY or LA. When we were in the South (ATL), most people had a stereotypical idea of what they thought Black Men should wear and immediately thought we were gay!

Anonymous Lisa Bruckner said ... (11:45 AM) :

funky-rasta-street...I like the way the cherry red bike makes a statement with the clothing, especialy the accessories (beads and shoes).

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (11:45 AM) :

i was scrolling down and thinking

what? what? what?

unitl i saw the sneakers - BOOM!and the perfect turn-up of the jeans and then i was like oooooooooohhhhhh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 AM) :

I love the contrast between his toughness and serious face with the Jesus t-shirt and the colorful beads necklace...

Anonymous adrian said ... (11:51 AM) :

his jeans are cut just right. not too skinny, not too wide. i also like to cuff that kind of thin dark denim just the same as he is wearing.

also, are his socks purple? cute.

Anonymous ashley said ... (11:52 AM) :

awesome shoes

Blogger Angeles Almuna said ... (11:52 AM) :

love those purple sport shoes, I love purple, nice attitude!!!!!

Blogger Nicole said ... (11:53 AM) :

I love this one. The simplicity and clean look of his is just great, and the little details, like the ring and bracelt, set it off. Not to mention that look...

Blogger Orchid & Wasp said ... (11:54 AM) :

Wow. He is so hot.

Your blog is becoming less and less about clothes and more and more about your subjects' energy and their relationship to their environment (a relationship, of course, that clothes speak to.) I'm not complaining about that!

Blogger Robin Reed said ... (11:54 AM) :

I love all the photos you've been taking in Fort Greene! It is one of my favorite little neighborhoods in Brooklyn, and it has always seemed like a unique yet approachable personal style is a requirement to live there.

Blogger elinor said ... (11:55 AM) :

the shoooes :)

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (11:56 AM) :

I love that he has his jeans cuffed up ... the purple shoes look great, as well.

Blogger carmilevy said ... (12:11 PM) :

The Look...classic!

I love how you capture moments in the city. Absolutely delightful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:14 PM) :

maybe it's the near-searing intensity of his gaze, but i'm surprised nobody has commented on this yet! the fit, the accessories, the bike, and the bright worn-in kicks just ooze a thoughtful, if laid-back confidence and self-possession.

i am absolutely LOVING the artful realness of these street style photos. :)

Blogger Rebecca said ... (12:22 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:58 PM) :

Fort Green looks like a place to be at.
Such coolness of all the people in the series.
Comparable to my home town Venice in LA.

Blogger noelakadjtambour said ... (1:04 PM) :

this guy knows how to have bling in a subtle way. the gold stays on the left hand next to the jesus print on the shirt.

Anonymous Mr.Ed said ... (4:34 PM) :

His look is classic Brooklyn 1980-today, love the BK attitude and fit. His shirt is from a great little shop in Brooklyn named The Brooklyn Circus. They have a really great blog and a store in San Francisco. www.thebkcircus.com

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:55 PM) :

What I like about this outfit are the different accessories that he is wearing. The two finger ring, necklace and bracelet really set off an otherwise basic outfit. I truly feel that the future of men's style is in accessories and detailing.

Blogger Bleu Clothing said ... (5:16 PM) :

i love all your street fashion from NY it makes me miss living there so badly.

Blogger Monica said ... (6:40 PM) :

I love the purple shoes. Hopefully bicycles will never go out of style.

Anonymous jbozak said ... (7:23 PM) :

Blogger addictedtoysl said ... (10:33 PM) :

Blogger erin nuts said ... (11:33 PM) :

Haha are his socks purple? That's sick

This man is seriously gorgeous. The purple kicks are the icing...

Blogger Justine said ... (11:47 PM) :

those sneakers are wonderful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:06 AM) :

are those Puma Clydes? no matter, i love the colorway, the name ring very 80s hip-hop. the mongoose bike - also very 80s but the pegs are very trick rider.

loving the B-R-double O-K-L-Y-N!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:35 AM) :

Jesus+colorful shoes=well dressed? I don't get it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 AM) :

love the color mix overall, if the bike had a plain red frame and his t-shirt was just a black basic v neck, it would be perfect but nonetheless, great shot, casual and spot on

Blogger Dominica said ... (1:42 AM) :

Love his style but it's his BIKE I'm in love with !!

Blogger PAN said ... (4:36 AM) :

Yep, that t-shirt (and the jeans too if i'm not mistaken) are from my favorite shop in BK, The Brooklyn Circus. It's right in Boerum Hill on the corner of Nevins and Bergen...I've been waiting for you to catch wind of it. No one in New York City is doing what they're doing with style, and they're a really good bunch. If you stop by, ask for Ouigi aka The Bearded Man!

i've worked with them on some editorial stuff in the past...check 'em out

I never thought I'd see a BMX bike on the Sartorialist. Great shot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 PM) :

I love rr's comment-- fort greene is my 'hood and that is exactly how I feel about it. These pics have been an amazing display and perfectly captures "personal style"-- they're great! And they make me miss my 'hood while I'm working overseas...

keep up the great work! I love that you capture the essence of the individual yet it somehow relates to the city, no matter where you're shooting...

Boy, this dude is hot.

Blogger Javi said ... (1:48 AM) :

Anonymous iferneinez said ... (2:05 PM) :

i've seen a lot of guys around my area that dress the way he does, the only difference and why i would give him props is that he matched his socks with the same color of his shoe.

Blogger Ray Wattson said ... (3:42 PM) :

Blogger Bayley. said ... (6:16 AM) :

I love how the look on his face seems to show he doesn't really want his photo taken and how his phone is still held casually in his hand. Love how his jeans are cuffed.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (11:27 PM) :

Nice bicycle shot!

Blogger Cheryl Cato said ... (9:06 AM) :

Love the purple tennies...

Anonymous Krisp Kristofferson said ... (2:45 PM) :

Nice. I'm living vicariously through this dude right now, because, I, like many of you, would love to be featured on this blog and have people complimenting/swooning over me. I happen to recognize him--he works at a well known babershop in the immediate vicinity of this photo. I won't give the name, but he'd be easy to find, so ladies, or men (i'm not presumptuous), have at him!!

Anonymous knitcake said ... (10:43 PM) :

This guys got amazing style. Great photo!

Blogger sspeier said ... (12:09 AM) :

I'm pretty sure the purple shoes are the HUF x DVS Doughboy.

There is no style like Brooklyn style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

shoes are puma clyde purple ... I'm a big puma fan , can't go wrong

Blogger Tiger Fodder said ... (4:48 PM) :

Shoes are awesome, the rest I can live without. I am very annoyed by the rolled up leg. Nice bike.

Blogger emc2 said ... (12:38 AM) :

I'm really not a fan of the printed shirt, but everything waist down is perfect. This man knows how to dress. The kicks are obviously great, but he has the socks to match, and is showing them off beautifully with the cuff and the bike as a real fashion accessory.

Blogger Jean said ... (11:41 AM) :

Shoes ain't puma....they look more like low blazer sb, but they're not...saw those in paris and i can tell you they ain't clydes...clydes are thinner
