Hot weather is a real challenge to looking stylish. High heels hurt and tight clothes make you feel sweaty... Thanks for showing Joana as a great example for looking stylish in the heat.

I really think she's a style master. And she's also fresh, sexy, vibrating, and one of the best characters I've ever seen here at the blog. But I also have to say that this look seems pretty average for a Brazilian. I mean, you'll see people dressed like this everywhere on our beaches. Maybe what makes it special is Joana herself.

Anonymous Lucas B. said ... (7:55 PM) :

Also, that's an AMAZING picture.

waouw...this picture is so glamourous...not only this lady, her elegance and clothes and bag and shoes but also the sand, the light, the palms...sometimes i wonder why i'm addicted to this blog...i'm not crazy about the fashion world but when i see such a picture i understand a litle more this addiction

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 AM) :

I am still not liking this style.

It just feels too dry.

But I like this as a photograph.

Blogger laweezil said ... (6:25 AM) :

Above all I love the light in the picture.
Joana looks really relaxed and comfortable. She is stylish and looks relaxed and at ease in everything she wears.
Can we have more dog accessory pictures please? Impressed that she has a "proper" dog, not a toy pooch!

Blogger Susie said ... (6:27 AM) :

Now this pix of her I really like. The others almost seemed like advertisements for the Birkin. And I guess I have a New England fashion sense (call it conservative maybe) but the head scarf's she wore just looked silly to me.

This is just relaxed. The bag finally matches the outfit. The sandals are perfect. The hot color of the bathing suit peeking out, ahh its all just right.

Anonymous Joanna Roman said ... (6:33 AM) :

The 3rd photo of this lady from Rio mini-report of 2010. That is an absolutely great example of elegant woman's "beach wardrobe"!

I am gonna to be cruel a little - she should not wear mini - skirts (previous photo of her). She has a wonderful sence of colors / patterns and obviously knows how / what to mix together for a wonderful result BUT (is there always some"BUT"?? :-) EVERYBODY (maybe except Christy Turlington :-)) has some weaknesess.... and to be 100 % elegant & sartorial you have to be able to "see" what it is / accept it and do not demonstrate it!
Houk!!! :-)

ps. I know your photos from the very first one in this blog. Mr. Schuman - YOu are doing just better &better! full respect!

Blogger Nabster said ... (7:47 AM) :

I've been dying to get a pair of turqoise sandals just like hers.

It's amazing how colorful the people and the backdrop are in Rio.

I must definitely make it my next visit! :)

Blogger Seb said ... (8:06 AM) :

I'll like the square format of this photo...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:12 AM) :

Ýes, she is very lovely. As for the oufit and people remarking that's pretty average: this is how we dress in summer. Light dresses and flat sandals. As Garance pointed out in her blog, there are not a lot of fashion addicts in this city.Anything goes. Which suits us very well!

Blogger  said ... (8:14 AM) :

Now Joan showed the true form of dress of Rio.
Simply wonderful!

Anonymous Erin Acevedo said ... (9:30 AM) :

i really like how she doesn't follow the military-edgy trend that's dominating right now. color is our friend!

i hope you have more pictures of her to share!

Your ususal great job...love the way the palms form vertical lines that play against the horizontal lines of her colorful dress. The sense of movement. The ease of her posture. The no-effort but looking fabulous style of her. and above all, always the LIGHT.

Blogger Otis said ... (11:34 AM) :

This picture forces the viewer to smile. Really like her colors.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:26 PM) :

Boring, just like the previous pictures of her. Sure, she's pretty; she wears colorful clothes. But so do tons of girls in Rios. Nothing really original or outstanding about her. Was this the best you could find in Brasil?

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (4:44 PM) :

This is a lovely photo and I agree with Otis, it does force the viewer to smile. I love the sunlight in the background and how the dog is looking up at her lovingly and she is smiling back. I love her sandals as well. Great photo.

Anonymous Ana K. said ... (7:38 PM) :

She's beautiful, everyone can see that. But and I've never seen so many pictures of only one (not famous)girl in your blog. Is this a kind of 'I'm sorry, Brazilians, I didn't mean to hurt you when I said you're not stylish'?

Blogger Claudia said ... (8:27 PM) :

What a fabulous shot. Great style and photography!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 PM) :

This is rio daily fashion for sure... its not chic... its not bold.. but it is fresh and comfy... but sometimes beachwear is so obvious in a town like rio.... i mean..she is walking around the sand.. so it is appropriate...but there are times when u need to get daring..and i feel a lack of boldness in brazilian fashion.... all we have here..is beachwear or bitchwear...
