The thing with Alessandra is, when I think of how to describe her style I wouldn't use descriptions of her favorite colors, proportions or genres. I would have to use terms like sexy, approachable, androgynous, playful. Funny how someones personality can actually become their style. Sounds simply but it isn't.

The Barbour / country overtones of the jacket work really well against the denim / workwear skirt.
I just bought Barbour to go with really tailored skinny Prince of Wales trousers, to try to get the same effect, but somehow I'm not pulling it off so well :-/

Alessandra only seemed to wear flat shoes and trousers, but she looks so amazing in a mini skirt and stilettos! I never really liked the way a denim mini-skirt looked on the female figure, especially with the "Abercrombie and Fitch" aesthetic, but I love the way Alessandra's style makes me reconsider this. OK, long time reader and a big fan of this blog, but I think this is a hot mess. This outfit is not even in the same league as her leather jacket, baggy trousers ensemble that she wore in a shot a few months back (in Paris I think). I think sometimes readers get a little starstruck and a little sycophantic here. If this were a shot of someone in a mall in some backwater American town, and she were wearing the same thing, we'd certainly not be praising her style, or her proportions, or her playful androgyny. The context of the blog, the photos, and the backdrop too, all contribute to making this outfit better than it is.
I'm not saying that these elements (jacket, shoes, haircut) don't have merit. And it doesn't hurt that she's got terrific cheekbones and a terrific body. But the combo, for me, doesn't work.

Nah. I think you missed on this one. Quirky style, yes. But this girl looks like a dude. Specifically the dude in the Apple commercials (if he dressed up as a clown). Everyone above is just being nice. Approachable doesn't mean "sexy" or "hot". In fact, unapproachable is way hotter.

i'm afraid the stilettos are making her head look small. those shoes are really not doing it for me, i can understand the mixing of the sexes thing, but why would you want to walk on needles for that? folding up the skirt is certainly interesting, without the pockets showing of course. one less fold of the skirt, and it might have worked. i do like the jacket. her earlier outfit was killer, well put together and proportional.

I like to see leggings under mini-skirts. Looks sexy without being too slutty. (Not that I really mind girls dressing slutty.) Besides the shoes, the outfit looks fun. The shoes are nice, they just seem too serious. And I think the pockets are cute.
