Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:23 PM) :

Hook The Look

Anonymous Denise said ... (2:26 PM) :

I wish I was on Park ave!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

Yeah, what brand is that coat!?

Blogger Lark said ... (2:30 PM) :

Only youth can make a cigarette look so good.

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (2:31 PM) :

the collar and the lining of that coat are just wonderful

Blogger Beverly. said ... (2:32 PM) :

I have those very shades. I'm digging the militant-inspired coat.

Anonymous Ae said ... (2:33 PM) :

I second the denunciation re: people smoking in too many photos.
Great coat - and nice almost John Mayer pre-fall-off-deep-end look.

Blogger Suman said ... (2:42 PM) :

It's perfect in every way. Like the hair style, the bag and the jeans...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:49 PM) :

The coat is phenomenal.
love the layers.

One question...does he have a sweater tied around his waist? Can't quite understand the black portion between the pant legs...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 PM) :

woooooow, i just adore the coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:54 PM) :

WHICH BRAND IS THE COAT FROM? I LOVE IT

Too cool.

Blogger C A said ... (3:03 PM) :

Love the sunglasses..
But.. too much pose, no?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:03 PM) :

Great looking young man. Wow, can he really put it all together. Once again, I have to tell you how much I love mixing separates to come up with a fantastic look. A suit, although great and sometimes necessary, can sometimes be so boring! Separates are where it's at!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:03 PM) :

wow, this is amazing. the jacket, sunglasses, the layering, the sweater tied around the waist, the leather strap from his bag...and the beautiful hair. he is sooo beautiful, i want him to make love to me. he can smoke afterwards.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:08 PM) :

Love this photo, very 60s... yes, people are smoking, it's a street shot, not a retouched, artificial, censored propaganda.

Anonymous Agriffa said ... (3:10 PM) :

Possibly one of your best shots

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:11 PM) :

Good look, except that cigarettes are for losers (and it wrecks the complexion).

Blogger Mr Sartorial said ... (3:14 PM) :

Metrosex, cool energy, more style than fashion...I just love it.

Take a look at my site, if you have a few minutes - MrS

THAT HAIR!!

ahh I am swooning for such tousled perfection

Blogger JV said ... (3:26 PM) :

Blogger Gary said ... (4:01 PM) :

I find it strange how people in the comments dislike the fact that he smokes. I think it's realy cultural. I mean, it's realy his problem if he smokes or not, I don't see how it can be judged. And in his case, it doesn't make him look like an old hooker, but gives him a nice countenance. The jaket is beautifull. Bravo, nice portait again. Like the one below (red haired girl), I love it.

It was warmer in Paris today, I see that it seems to be the same in NY. Enfin, le printemps qui arrive !

Blogger mondoblogo said ... (4:01 PM) :

the look is andrew mccarthy circa 1985- a very st elmo's fire, less than zero vibe....

Blogger Lou said ... (4:09 PM) :

What a beautiful sensual guy. That coat is perfect, so is the man bag, the peek of his white shirt below the gray pullover, the jeans, the sunglasses. He would be practically antiseptic with perfection, therefor only in this case *fortunately* he smokes. Ha!

Blogger Café Naïveté said ... (4:10 PM) :

I like him. He sure has got an attitude. Underneath the coat the white shirt and grey combination is really really elegant.

Blogger hannah lynn said ... (4:12 PM) :

A girl (boy) like you's just irresistible"

...and coat is excellent, especially a colour, my favourite.

Reminds me of an early-mid 80s Woody Allen character that got away. Le sigh.

Blogger Jeannine 520 said ... (6:06 PM) :

Love the look. Too bad it all smells of cigarette smoke.

Blogger Peace Thyme said ... (6:29 PM) :

I would like to know why so many of your wonderful, stupendous, beautiful photos are of young people holding a lit ciggaret? Where I live in Colorado, one never, I mean never sees a person lighting up. Is it that different elsewhere? Just wondering. As an ex-smoker, of course.

Blogger Kathleen said ... (6:29 PM) :

He's one sexy young man. He's got it all put together, I love his look. New Yorkers are so cool in the way that they brave the cold weather. Just because you're cold doesn't mean you can't look great!

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:08 PM) :

Enough of the judgment about smoking. Let's just enjoy the fabulous photographs we can see of people who are able to dress with style, originality, humor and confidence.

Blogger Karenina said ... (7:31 PM) :

It's Holden Caulfied if you dropped him in the 80's. I bet he thinks we're all a bunch of phoney morons.

"In my mind, I'm probably the biggest sex maniac you ever saw."

This kid kills me!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:36 PM) :

Please keep photographing on Park!

The photos always come out beautiful; and more often than not, there are so many people who really know how to dress.

Loved the last photo of Marina Rust.

And, if you really hang around Park, and around Madison and 5th, you'll get all the teenagers coming home from school.

And, really, those are the most stylish New Yorkers I've ever met :)

Blogger alice said ... (7:46 PM) :

Long live the heartthrob! This is such a good look.

Re: Mountain Thyme- yes, Colorado is a rare pocket of non-smokers, compared to the rest of the country.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:57 PM) :

The way he presents himself in this picture makes me want to know him. His birthmark below his lip also gives him a natural beauty. Love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:14 PM) :

Quite a breeze from the look of it. Fella is sharp.

Anonymous Reynolds Still said ... (9:05 PM) :

Liked this gentleman's look. The glasses with the haircut give him a sense of Mad Men Hollywood style. Diggin' it!

Blogger Lily Fritsch said ... (10:49 PM) :

this is an ATTRACTIVE man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:44 PM) :

I always thought denouncing smoking was lame, then last week my father is diagnosed with cancer. This is 100% the result of smoking, and its terrible. horrible. He is full of regret now. Obviously, this gentleman is super cool, but the Perez Hilton inside of me wants to scribble on this photo: "Death stick. Lame. Gross."

Blogger Barclay said ... (12:06 AM) :

It Luigi!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:12 AM) :

"I mean, it's realy his problem if he smokes or not, I don't see how it can be judged."

For goodness' sake, we're judging how people knot their scarf, or match their socks to their pocket handkerchiefs. Of course, we can judge his smoking.

Me: thumbs down on the cigarette. Not a good accessory. And all that smoke smell in the fur. Yuck.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:11 AM) :

this boy looks just like a jonas brother. he's still adorable though and i love that jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 AM) :

Blogger Sophisticated Misfit said ... (8:04 AM) :

Yeah, what's with the menthol cigarette? Youth these days...

Personally I feel that a cigar would have captured a far more sophisticated moment. A pipe... now, a pipe would have been perfection.

The hell with cancer and rusting away to old age. Live fast, die young and make a beautiful corpse rather than a shriveled one rotting away in a home.

Blogger 82Brute said ... (8:06 AM) :

He's beautiful/handsome. Androgynous in the tradition of young Wayne Newton and k.d. lang. As mesmerized as I am by his face, I am more so by that beautiful hand of his and the elegant way he's holding the cigarette. Very alluring. You really know how to make the light work for you. The backlight through his hair and glancing off his shoulders bring him forward nicely from the soft focus background. Love that the pops of color don't have to come from the subject but can come from the background. Another photograph for the ages. I'm getting your book today. This is food for my head.

Anonymous eileen said ... (8:53 AM) :

classic meets rock´n roll ...
great mix. I wonder if he is also a bit classic and a bit rock´n roll?

Anonymous Lucas B said ... (9:16 AM) :

Anonymous Luna said ... (10:23 AM) :

I loved all about him including his cigarette...
Yes, it's cultural.

I grow up around smokers and it never bothered me and I don't smoke. Let people eat oreos, let people smoke, let people drink soda...adults should act like adults. Freedom of being is in need in this country!

Blogger Elena Wa said ... (11:15 AM) :

like in movie "Breacfast at Tiffany's"

Blogger Caddy said ... (11:30 AM) :

Rayban wayfarers- they add a touch of mystery and cool to this photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:16 PM) :

wow... that's a MAN!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:33 PM) :

Very, very nice.

Anonymous Ae said ... (3:40 PM) :

Plenty of people smoke. It is cultural, it is part of a look. I don't mind that people smoke; I don't mind that he smokes. What I am saying is that, in general, I would like to see fewer photos of people smoking. Not none. Just fewer. (And I don't mean just on the sartorialist - I do mean generally.)

Last but not least, it's ongoing - I don't always get what I want (that is, unless this guy has my number?)

Blogger Ocean in Between said ... (3:54 PM) :

*sigh* I think I'm in love! :D awesome style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:31 PM) :

Awesome frames.

Blogger Soviétique said ... (4:45 PM) :

We're here to analyze his clothes, not what he chooses to incorporate in his lifestyle, such as smoking. I can't stand it when people jump on smokers, CANCER STICK CANCER STICK! Eesh.

With that being said he looks like Mark Ronson's twin, love the coat and hair, really chic.

Anonymous Isobel said ... (7:57 AM) :

indeed the look its fantastic, but i resent one of the comments above which describes smoking as "cultural".such an ignorant comment. there is nothing sexy, stylish or devil-may-care about lungs that have been distorted and blackened. and most likely, smoking will eventually lead to his death. i hate to be morbid, but my gos is smoking stupid.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:38 PM) :

Sensual.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 PM) :
