Anonymous V said ... (4:24 AM) :

Very chic woman, but those shoes are horrible.

Blogger davidikus said ... (4:30 AM) :

Whenever my British friends come to Paris they are on the lookout for the Picasso/Gaultier sailor stripes. I always advise them to go to Saint-James (a French manufacturer, despite the name). I seldom go to Paris but I noticed recently you actually see more of those 'iconic-French' stripes in London than in Paris! Apparently, the Petit-Bateau influence!

A trend you spotted very well!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:49 AM) :

Nice scarf.
It's all very "Alexa Chung"

Blogger SabinePsynopsis said ... (5:05 AM) :

Finding this skirt length always rather difficult to wear (can easily look too 'auntie')- unless you are tall and slim like she is. The combination of blue and grey plus stripes gives it an elegant, but relaxed feeling.

Blogger Lou said ... (5:20 AM) :

the shoes make the outfit. I find the sshawl somehow a bit fussy. It does however beautifully frame her exquisite face.

Blogger bianka said ... (5:35 AM) :

love the shoes!
yeah, right. looks like chung.

Blogger Kayna said ... (5:44 AM) :

I feel as though the proportions are a little off - the length of jacket plus length of shirt plus higher ankle booties sort of make it seem as though she has disproportionately small legs. I really love the colors though!

Blogger Vinda Sonata said ... (5:48 AM) :

i really want to steal her shoes! i love her overall look, too, she's so feminine, and french chic!

I am a little bit heartbroken that you came to London and didn't see me and put me in your wonderful blog!!
I'm only half joking!
..One day.
I love the combination of the knee length skirt and ankle boots here, and the semi-translucence of the skirt, it really works.

Blogger Archie said ... (6:10 AM) :

I love the blue jacket. It's the sort of thing a Corsican farm labourer might wear. I do not mean that in a bad way!

Blogger Anna Marie said ... (8:52 AM) :

i always love a sailor stripe shirt, but i think i love those shoes even more!!
xo

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 AM) :

love this look, particularly the length of the skirt!

They sell shoes that look exactly the same at Zara.

Blogger The Pilgrim said ... (8:58 AM) :

It seems everybody is wearing those stripes this season (including me), but this elegant young lady takes them to a whole different level with the printed scarf and the unusually bright color of her pea coat.

Blogger beths said ... (8:59 AM) :

The top layers, especially the scarf swimming about her face, are really stunning--the way her gaze is so horizontal and the shirt's stripes peek out of her pocket. And the proportion works, but for me the weights and textures of the lower half spoil it. The clingy skirt and heavy opaque tights make the shoes look like cement blocks to me; their potential grace looks clunky instead.

Anonymous Sophie said ... (9:02 AM) :

Love! I have shoes almost identical from Zara.

Nice outfit and style. Congrat'

Blogger Kathleen said ... (9:22 AM) :

Love the mix here. Great use of tonal blues, incredible shoes, and the scarf is to die for. This striped top isn't worked into "her look" as well as the young lady from NYC used hers in a shot from last Tuesday, but all the same I like the mix. The coat is a gorgeous shade of blue, very beautiful.

Blogger Chris Wolfgang said ... (9:24 AM) :

oh my word! it's a young lauren bacall.

Blogger Hera said ... (9:58 AM) :

I love everything about this outfit, the scarf, the jacket, the shoes are my favorites.

Blogger Meg said ... (10:00 AM) :

Boot is prada, look is spot on.

Love the Breton stripes!

And the motion of this photo. Lovely work.

Blogger Lemon for breakfast said ... (10:36 AM) :

I love the shoes!! I've been looking for a similar ones, but I can't find them!

Blogger Brummagem Joe said ... (10:44 AM) :

This look is actually something of a British staple these days among younger women (compare it with some other recent shots you've put up).

For those in search of Picasso jersey sweaters (pace Davidikus said) check out J. Press the menswear store in NYC....they have a nice line on offer.

Blogger Prutha Raithatha said ... (10:50 AM) :

love the brick color in the background... not my fav outfit though :(

Anonymous Sandy said ... (10:51 AM) :

i love the shoes and the scarf! have a great weekend!

Blogger sisty said ... (11:00 AM) :

Glad to see skirts this length popping up -- the lightness of the fabric makes the length work. Very pretty.

Blogger Anna said ... (11:13 AM) :

I would say the outfit is perfect except that she has great legs and should wear a shorter skrt! Love the scarf and shoes. Wonderful!

Blogger Rachel said ... (11:15 AM) :

Gotta love that scarf. I always have the intention of wearing a scarf, but never know how to go about it. I must say this is an inspiration.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

She looks better than Chung. Proportion and palette play at its best.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:22 AM) :

Does anyone know the style name of these prada boots?? I'm dying to find them!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 AM) :

can anyone share the style name of the prada booties she's wearing?? Dying to find them...

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:32 AM) :

Love it! New/Old London!
I have a couple of posts on my blog right now that you might like, Scott:)

Blogger FASHION SNAG said ... (11:32 AM) :

Great look! I love how the scarf ties together the color of the coat and the gray in the shoes. She walks with determination and you captured that. xo

Blogger Lisa Petrarca said ... (11:55 AM) :

I love what she's done with the scarf. Whenever I wear one I usually wear it the same way all the time...I'll have to try it this way.

Lovin' the shoes!

Happy Friday.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

love everything except the shoes... i feel they upstage the rest of the palette/shape. maybe the same shoes with a darker sole...

Blogger stephanie_press said ... (12:07 PM) :

Are those rubber soles? So excellent.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 PM) :

Absolutely wonderful. Maravillosaaaa!!!!

Blogger Norma said ... (1:38 PM) :

Swoonworthy shoes, those. I like the lighter sole -- that is what makes them *almost* off, which is what makes it perfect.

Anonymous Lynn said ... (1:48 PM) :

I love this look, but I don't actually think she's wearing a skirt - they look like bloomer trousers to me....

Blogger Carol said ... (2:05 PM) :

I've been looking for that jacket. Does anyone know that label? (You can see the logo.) Let me know, please!: flowscapes at gmail

You can get the French sailor shirts from Hamilton Marine, among others. They run large. You might have to alter.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:17 PM) :

I want those shoes in a terrible way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 PM) :

do you know that almost every teenager in Poland looks like this lady?!
:)

Anonymous thestyleexpress.com said ... (4:15 PM) :

I absolutley love, love this outfit. I want it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:44 PM) :

I agree with Anonymous 11:58 AM. I like the shoes as an independent entity, but think they mar the whole outfit. I can't get beyond the off-whiteness of the crepe soles looking "dirty" in comparison to the white striped sailor shirt. Grey suede is still a great choice if the soles were dark (which wouldn't work with the concept of these booties, which are an interpretation of the "desert boot") -- then the look would be awesome, allowing the white of the sailor shirt to pop as the lightest shade.

Blogger Nadia said ... (5:48 PM) :

incidentally, just picked up a breton stripe top for $15 at uniqlo. quality material - as they often do - and accessible in most major cities.

Nice shoes!
Best regards from Argentine

Blogger LunaStitches said ... (6:54 PM) :

She looks great. I love the colors of her coat and scarf. Are her tights black? I'm always too wimpy to wear black and navy though I know it's not a faux pas....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 PM) :

Love the match-not-matchiness of this whole look. You and Garance have single-handedly (dual handedly?) forced me to update my wardrobe with stripes...and khaki. :)

Anonymous edinamonsoon said ... (10:39 PM) :

I covet the shoes as well. I'd be very interested in seeing them with a darker sole, but the crepe sole gives them a stronger early
70's vibe.

Blogger Xtabay Liz said ... (10:40 PM) :

She reminds me of art school. My best friend at RISD dressed just like this.
