Parisian women is why I live here.

Blogger SabinePsynopsis said ... (5:28 AM) :

You know about the Japanese shiver therapy? Wear very little on your legs which causes shivering and so builds up muscles (= slim legs). Slightly masochistic, but if we want to look that good the only way to go, I guess.

p.s.- beautiful :)

Anonymous Gene Wicker Jr said ... (7:44 AM) :

Love the tights and shoes in the first one. She has great legs too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:01 AM) :

She has legs to beat the band but the proportions are all wrong with grown up high heels. This intense leggy look is something we shall look back on and know we had it wrong.

Perhaps on young girls with little shoes. But that's it.

Anonymous enrique said ... (8:38 AM) :

A newer take on what has become THE silhouette in womens fashion. Shorter jeans on longer legs accentuate their length even more. Jardin des Tuileries is where it's at!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 AM) :

Like that first shot very much, Sart. You have a way with background and subject. She is a beauty in autumn tones.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 AM) :

What legs, oh what legs. It should be illegal to cover up legs like those. Works of art.

Anonymous Singapore Short Stories said ... (9:03 AM) :

I love both outfits. Comfy and casual, yet very chic and sexy. Well done!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 AM) :

Photo 2: The anti-capri. And the more fascinating for it.

And yes, hiding those legs would be a crime.

:D

Anonymous THE BLAST said ... (9:35 AM) :

The woman on the first pic must be so cold! Paris is sunny but still! ^^

Blogger Yáskara Ferreira said ... (9:40 AM) :

Anonymous Belgiquechique said ... (10:10 AM) :

Let me guess: same girl, same scarf, same coat, same leggings, she just took off the jeans in the first picture, am I right? Nice look, but les Tuileries must be hell to walk around in these shoes ;-)

I just love the photos! I love the Blog.

Blogger Kelly said ... (10:23 AM) :

I do love the tights and shoes. She is gorgeous.

Blogger Meg said ... (11:55 AM) :

Why only concentrating on the first subject's legs when her entire being is so evidently beautiful no matter what angle photographed at or leg length, what a beautiful person and style.

Both photos are special, what gift, real, raw, human, beauty!

Blogger Meg said ... (12:01 PM) :

The top photo looks like Helen Baxendale :) Gorge.

Anonymous Silla said ... (12:08 PM) :

I love the first outfit! But she looks very cold :P

Anonymous Meadow said ... (12:18 PM) :

Paris is making me re-think the whole open toe shoe and tights/socks conundrum. The girls really embrace it, and dare I say...it actually looks chic-er than I remembered.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:33 PM) :

I think this is the same woman, same outfit without the jeans the first time, and with them the second. Amazing what a person can do with just a little imagination.

I want those legs! Love both of these looks

Miss B xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:33 PM) :

Yes, the legs in the firt photo are great but... I have to disagree with what seems to be the rest of the world - the outfit is completely disproportionate! Too bulky on top with loooong lean legs...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 PM) :

I love her style but Scott please, can we NOT have smoking depicted in your photos? Like it or not, people look to you as an arbiter of style. Depicting smoking as chic and sexy is dangerous and irresponsible. Smoking is deadly. Images like this must have the tobacco companies licking their lips. I'm sorry to sound off like this. I am an avid reader of your blog and I love your beautiful photos but the smoking thing really rankles. PS I'm a reformed smoker. My husband still smokes, having taken up the habit at 13.

Blogger Nacho Royo said ... (2:25 PM) :

Blogger Mumei said ... (3:11 PM) :

she's not wearing her coat as a dress, her skirt underneath the coat is just tiny.

she has a wonderful look of confidence about her. both outfits look great.

Anonymous Hildegard said ... (3:13 PM) :

I might then be one of the few who do not like this pictures... I find the girl...I do not know... too "average"... I do not feel as if she wears a miniskirt with a jacket, but as if she has forgotten the skirt... I can't find a better way to explain it...!!
And I would have liked the second outfit if she hadn't worn the hoosiery? I don't know...I do not like these outfits!! I have to say... one of the rare outfits at the sartorialist that i haven't enjoyed, anyway...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:18 PM) :

I'm curious about the origin of the scarf in the first of these two photos - are you able to tell us about it? It's lovely, as is the entire photo and your beautiful subject. Thank you.

Anonymous alabdin said ... (3:49 PM) :

Anonymous tina said ... (5:00 PM) :

funny that (except from the jeans) she's wearing exactly the same clothes on both pictures, and still they look so different...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:02 PM) :

The scarf looks like the traditional ones worn by the Newaris in Katmandu valley.

Blogger Невена said ... (5:41 PM) :

Oh, she (in the 1st pic) is perfect!

Anonymous Slezzer said ... (6:40 PM) :

I just love the Addidas Chile 62s in the background. I'm still devasted that mine fell to pieces from overwear and that they are no longer made in my size...

Oh and both girls look stunningly stylish, although I can't help thinking that full length jeans would suit the second better than the cropped pair she's sporting.

Blogger Tokyo Girl said ... (6:45 PM) :

If I could wear a scarf like that.. if I could show my legs like that.. (both like in the first photo)

Anonymous Burgini said ... (12:38 AM) :

Wow... I would never wear pants if I had legs like that!

The first pic makes me wonder where everyone is hurrying off to! It's poetry in motion :)

Anonymous Daviddixit said ... (4:12 PM) :

WOW!! What legs. I'm in love.

Anonymous Sophiest said ... (6:48 PM) :

Same girl, same tights, same shoes, same jacket, same scarf... But the first one has the right lighting... on the legs...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:35 PM) :

Sigh...how many times do we have to go through this? Scott is a street fashion photographer. These are not photo shoots, they are "slices of life"... as it is. He doesn't say, "here hold this, it'll look good" and hand them a cigarette. He shoots people as they are, and the fact is, people smoke, so once in a while there will be pictures of people smoking. What I find more disturbing if your need to "censor reality" by making it seem as if nobody smokes. You'd rather he put a big "censored" bar over the cigarette? ridiculous.

Blogger Washington, DC Internship said ... (1:28 AM) :

love love love

Blogger Dhppy said ... (4:28 PM) :

True, those legs are perfection, but still, it looks like she went without bottoms on a dare. And, no matter how many women do it, I think sandals with hose look strange.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:41 AM) :

tHE FIRST PICTURE IS PURE FANTASY

Blogger BigRed said ... (1:10 AM) :

lovely winter legs

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:51 AM) :

That picture is very beautiful.
I love your style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 AM) :

Lovely shots - but I want to raise the issue of wearing such a short skirt in Paris (and I wonder - is it the same elsewhere?) outside the cosseted high fashion world. It. is. IMPOSSIBLE. The hassle you get on the street in Paris in a mini-skirt is ridiculous and totally alienating. Much safer to just wear jeans or below-the-knee skirts. Misogyny still rules, and I'm afraid you're fair game in a mini-skirt.
