Blogger Paulinho said ... (2:32 PM) :

oooooww....I love the sunglass!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

it's magnificent how horn shades became the revolution against big glasses...
ray ban's clubmaster revival is just one example. this man knows how he could accentuate his face, not hide it.

Blogger Pots and Frills said ... (2:34 PM) :

That's what middle age elegance means!

Anonymous Mery said ... (2:37 PM) :

So I looked closely - and in terms of colour, everything about this man is in shades! Shades of white and brown (black). Even the hair and the beard! The skin, the buttons. Phenomenal.
Nevertheless, I also like the green pocket square. It seems to bring along a certain theme of it's own - circles.

What makes me wonder is whether this person has bought certain types of clothes and accessories as part of his very personal sense of style, and thus the things just come together in his attire in an almost invisible manner. Or, b) he has spent an amount of time picking out exactly these colours and shapes.
Is this all accidental or.. "accidental"?

I do not go on pondering about these things all day long, but the pictures make me think about it. Thank you

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:24 PM) :

I hate to disagree, but I love the fabric of his jacket and the color of the pocket square, not to mention the jacket buttons. The sunglasses are cool, but they don't make the look as much as the other details for me.

Blogger el jeffe said ... (5:54 PM) :

The pocket square is classic, and I am glad he does not muddle this up with a tie. I think something that rings true here is the saying "you can take the cat out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the cat."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 PM) :

I would have to disagree.... It's all about the green pocket square. The outfit would be completely different without it. Yes the glasses are certainly cool, however, his genius is the pocket square.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 PM) :

Not a fan of facial hair, but he pulls it off.

Anonymous Beyond Fabric said ... (6:08 PM) :

You're right!
It's all about the shades, and the shirt, and the jacket, and the pocket square, and the ring, and the belt, and the pants, and the facial hair and great haircut.

It would probably be about his shoes, too, if I could see them.

I want to adopt this guy as my alter-ego.

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (7:28 PM) :

Blogger Liz S said ... (8:03 PM) :

Oh god he is immaculate. Everything works here--that jacket fits perfectly--it's shape is divine--the colour is amazing. The bone trousers with casual white shirt is clever --not too much white. The shirt unbuttoned to just the right spot, the belt just the right width for the outfit--his glasses and pocket square lift this outfit to make it cool. His hair and beard are superb and his skin looks healthy. Sexy without being in your face. Ohhh, have I said enough? Maybe too much.....;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 AM) :

This look has lots of subtle echoes:

green glass in glasses - green pocket square

dots - round buttons - round glasses - rings

white/browns: jacket & shirt - rings - buttons - belt & buckle

This is a hot, gorgeous, stylish man, and he'll still be hot in ten or twenty more years. What a face!

Blogger Sarah said ... (10:33 AM) :

He looks like an adventurer about to open an Egyptian tomb full of treasures. Or at least, like a financier visiting the archaeological expedition that's about to open the Egyptian tomb. I do love making up stories about the Sartorialist's very real characters.

Anonymous michael said ... (12:47 PM) :

easily my favorite look of the summer!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

I like this outfit, understated, a tad cool when it's so hot outside. The white shirt is opened almost to his mid chest, but doesn't look sleazy. He has that intense worn out look of an architect.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:48 PM) :

Handsome gentleman, because he looks real, wrinkles, scraggly beard and all. Big yes to the shades. Yes to the pocket square, but not in that colour. It says: "I wanted to add something, and this green pocket square is the only thing I found".

The jacket!!! Look at those shoulders.. Amazing! Does anyone have an idea of what brand it is? But since it sits so perfectly on this guy it is probably made bespoke. I want one. Badly!

Anonymous Megan said ... (3:22 PM) :

Though the shades are so unique, I cannot help but be drawn to the green pocket square. It and the glasses are just too perfect of a combination!

Anonymous didi said ... (10:27 PM) :

charming !!!

Blogger Star said ... (2:34 AM) :

Lovely photo, lovely man (could he wash his hair, though, please?), lovely almost perfect clothes...the "after thought" effect of the pocket square could have been remedied, I think, by placing it more casually into the pocket, in line with the rest of the classy, but casual, look. Makes me want to see if his shoes were up to snuff with the rest of the outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:21 AM) :

One of the best outfits I've ever seen on the blog. Beautiful blazer, and he pairs it perfectly, only enhancing the look. WONDERFUL. I'd like him to teach other men how to dress! In fact, I could even take a hint or two from him I bet.

That's a nice jacket. Opening the second and sometimes the third or fourth button is so Italian (and French btw). When I was in Japan and wore a Yukata some (Australian) girl commented on my 'nice body' since that garment gave her a view of my upper torso...so I completely see the point in opening ones shirt like that (apart from the heat).
