I'm completely smitten with this look. It's how florals should be done. Also, love her excess accessorization, so stylish and unique..

I have the exact same jacket!

Anonymous Christin said ... (8:59 AM) :

I love military jackets especially with something feminine like this lovely dress. Great style inspiration!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:59 AM) :

Don't think the glasses suit her. They sit too high on her nose.

Otherwise very nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:04 AM) :

she looks like Patti Smith when she was young! The dress is lovely!!

Anonymous Lee Oliveira said ... (9:08 AM) :

I love the contrast of the military jacket and the softness of that pretty dress.

Blogger Meera said ... (9:16 AM) :

I like how she put a military jacket over such a girly look. :)

Blogger Liz S said ... (9:18 AM) :

Love the dress--the dye colours are rich and earthy. Not sure about this shirt/jacket with it--maybe from a different angle? It seems to sit slightly odd.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 AM) :

I love the colors in that floral print and I love how she toned down the femininity with that jacket.

Anonymous Cara Gray said ... (9:20 AM) :

Love this dress and jacket combo, looks amazing, great mix up with summer and military i agree Meera

Blogger WILDFLOWER said ... (9:30 AM) :

I keep thinking this is a floral print when actually its a painterly fabric made to look floral by the colours and embellished hem. Its gorgeous. Love her trinkets too.

Blogger Lauren said ... (9:32 AM) :

The jewel tones in her dress are so perfect with those deep green trees in the background. I love her random assortment of accessories- it's so effortlessly cool.

What a beautiful dress and a daring combination. I would be scared a jacket like that would take away from the dress too much, but it works wonderfully.

Blogger Caddy said ... (10:38 AM) :

I like the colors at work here.

Anonymous Laurent said ... (10:39 AM) :

I don't understand this military/fatigue/work jacket combined with pretty dresses. Is it an attempt to hide the dress? If you wear a dress, wear it with pride- this one is beautiful. I am sorry, but this appears to be a twelve year old who insists on wearing her favorite jacket over her party dress. Grow up.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:42 AM) :

That dress is amazing! I also like her little accessories.

Anonymous Dawn said ... (10:47 AM) :

Thanks for the inspiration! Since I have the same jacket, now I only need the dress....

Anonymous Laurent said ... (10:48 AM) :

I am going to a wedding this weekend and will wear my old green flight jacket over my linen suit. I am sure the bride will consider me tres chic. Maybe she'll wear a jean jacket over her gown. Please, look at the "jazz age" photos again.

Blogger Monika said ... (10:48 AM) :

I wish I could see more from the dress, because the part of it, that I can see, looks amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 AM) :

In my opinion, olive green is like black - you can wear it with any color.

Color-wise, this is nice. Shape-wise, I don't think it works. The ruffled dress with the slim-fitting jacket of almost the same length - bad proportions.

Pretty girl, nice hair, nice shot.

Blogger saara patel said ... (10:59 AM) :

absolutely love it. it's inspiring.

Blogger lintmag said ... (11:06 AM) :

Fab garden party camo! You could hide behind the flowers and blend in perfectly.

Great look. I have been looking for a jacket like this.
It's nice and simple! Not too short, and not too long, not too bulky. Anyone know where to find it?

Never thought this combination would work, but it totally does

xo www.fashion-feline.blogspot.com

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :

I dunno, I'm not fond of this combination, the jacket looks dumb on top of a full dress like this. I like the dress, but it's a tad too girly for me. I prefer the girl in the second picture, just natural and with a nice stance. She seems burdened to me, with her bag and her rings and her jewelry in general.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 PM) :

I ADORE this dress . It is wearable artwork that I want to have to show off on the streets. Such simplicity yet timelessness.

In love.

I think we see a lot of this look lately, the floral dress with the military coat..however she makes it all look very personal and not as trendy as some others...her eclectic mix of her clutch and jewellery play a big part in making the look all her own...overall I love it :)

Anonymous Zenobiar said ... (2:24 PM) :

Re the resemblance to Patti Smith. I don't think Patti Smith would go near a floral ruffle at gunpoint. How about it Patti? Do you follow Sart?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

I have this jacket! whith the dress...is perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

I'm not a girly girl, but even I fell in love with that dress. What rich colors and textures!

Blogger choppie said ... (3:13 PM) :

We can tell she chooses her outfits and accessories with what she really likes. She is a person with taste and knows how to match everything without being pretencious.I wonder what kind of shoes she's wearing...

Anonymous Cruz said ... (3:35 PM) :

In response to Laurent. . . Perhaps she was trying to look like she was 12 because she wanted to have a fun, playful day with her wardrobe. Perhaps it's a nice summer day in Western Europe but it's breezy enough to wear a light jacket. Perhaps she's a sitting editor at Vogue Nippon and she's embodying the Japanese sensibility to mash an abundance of trends together to convey a unique look. Perhaps she really wants to wear her favorite jacket of the moment (which so happens to be a militaristic one) and a dress (in floral) and fell in love with the contrast (also evident in her choice of accessories). Perhaps she's on her way to a show during men's fashion week and not a wedding and she doesn't care what anyone, especially the bride, will think. Perhaps you should have more fun with the way you dress albeit however old you are and stop making snarky comments at the expense of one's personal style. This is fashion and reality at its best, so get over yourself.

Anonymous Min said ... (5:43 PM) :

She knows not to make this look too fussy. Imagine this outfit matched with an updo and au courant aviators? She keeps it boho without looking hobo.

Blogger syzygy13 said ... (5:46 PM) :

Nice juxtaposition.

Blogger Sarah said ... (7:17 PM) :

So pretty, the bright frothy dress peeking from all those browns, I wish I could see the dress entire. It looks like it's designed as shirt collar and buttondown on top -- unexpected in contrast to the feminine tiers of the skirt.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:54 PM) :

who makes the sunglasses?!!
i think she has a lot going on, but somehow she makes it work.

Like everything individually but it just looks so fashion-slave contrived. Mash-up has become a tired trend instead of an authentic response to an individual's many facets.

Such a pretty dress.

The military jacket, IMO, doesn't add anything to it.

Anonymous Laurent said ... (8:16 PM) :

to Cruz, perhaps with an apology: I accept your critique but perhaps I did not convey my impression correctly. I applaud all attempts at style,My wife is a former Ford model, now in her 30s, very au courant, and has an eclectic, dynamic style which I applaud and encourage. I just can't understand this apparent "work" jacket/dress trend, and hoped for explanation!

Anonymous Laurent said ... (8:29 PM) :

More to Cruz, et. al. I guess it is these "mash ups" I don't like.
I interpret it as a non-commitment to a style, as if one wants to wear a feminine dress but has to negate it with a grunge element. No matter the "statement" I dont think the visual design/color complement works to show any pre-thought design concept, but that's me.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:06 PM) :

i also completely approve of and would love to bring into my life the military jacket- floral look coz\ i sometimes think im too flowery and butterfly-y. her accessories are a bit messy though, dont match up up, not even in a "meant to be messy" manner.

I love everything about her outfit. The mannish military jacket, the playful rosette dress and the jangle of jewelry. I also love that her hair is a simple ponytail with no heavy makeup. She looks great. Oh and the tan bag works well too. black would have been too heavy.

The combination of the military and the floral give a clashing outfit that makes for a unique look. With the military jacket you get a sense of a informal laid back tom boy but with the floral dress you get the sense of a formal high society girl. These two combined makes a look that is utterly adorable and unforgettable.
