The purple looks fantastic. It's a great color for grey haired, older people (no offense intended, of course).

My parents wear a lot of purple and it makes them look vibrant and young, like this gentleman.

I love the purple scarf. It brings out his dark eyes and makes the grey in his hair look classy, not ageing.

One question? Why did you leave the walking stick in the picture?

Love your work. Inspires me daily. xxx

Purple, hunter orange, plaid. How wonderfully UNinhibited!

Accessories totally rock! You can transform any plain wardrobe with the right accessories.
I love designing accessories in leather, like leather waist wrapping ribbons...with yards of leather ribbon , so they can be tied on in many different ways, adding different looks with the same accessory.
I've taken belts and wrapped them on as funky harnesses, layered neck ruffs and bandoliers.
I love his purple scarf & red pocket decor.....it makes his classic wool pop and looks so nice with his hair!
Wonderful quality photo, too!
Thanks for the pictures!

elegante! You can just tell that all of his life, he woke up every day and put together a perfect outfit with ease because of his innate sense of style, color beauty, fit...just like today. People, getting old is not a crime! It's a gift, and not for sissies. Innate style does not fade, it just gets more confident!

People such as this gentleman never copied anyone, they just "are" style. They are who the Ralph Laurens of design have looked to for classic inspiritation.. with sparkle.

In the witty words of a commentator about one of our fav "bicycle" men in Milano..."Scot,maybe next time try make friends with him"!:-) Would love to know about this gentleman's life. Elegance and confidence like this guarantee a fascinating story!

so appreciate age ranges, sizes Scott..adds such interst! He would have been beautiful for your exciting OVS/Rome ad...along with Adorable senor Pom Pom!

Hope it went well for you.

Older men who keep their style is beautiful :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:09 AM) :

This man looks great: his colours are beautiful. I find it interesting that some people refer to him as 'grandpa'. How do they know he's got grandchildren? Why the ageism and assumptions that older people wouldn't/couldn't dress well? I'm sure none of the younger posters on this site imagine that they will suddenly start wearing polyester pant-suits or jogging bottoms when they get to be whatever age they consider 'old'. If you dress with style and taste as a young person why would you suddenly not care as an older person?

Rich beautiful colors.

To the person who is complaining about 'ageism': Old people do tend to stop caring about keeping up their appearances, which just adds to this gentleman's striking-ness. Maybe it is a stereotype, but every stereotype has a reason behind it. It's a compliment anyway, when people don't expect something good of you yet you bring it, like this man does.

That bench the gentleman is sitting at, looks like the ones on park Olavide in Chamberi. Lots of children and senior citizens walk that park. I don't know if our gentleman dressed for show or comfort, regardless, his choice was good. There is class in his combination of kakhi and plad and edginess in the bright colored accesories.

I love Madrid, you can see stylish people everywhere specially around El Prado and Serrano Street. I've been here since Oct 10th.

There is something very inviting and welcoming about this picture. I feel I would be welcomed to sit, chat, share and enjoy some great wit, charm and wisdom from this guy.

With Veteran's Day having just passed it is always energizing to me to see people of the Great Wars generations so ready and able to share and smile and twinkle in the eye. Knowing what I do from many in my family who went through those years and history I have been taught I cannot imagine the stuff of the fortitude that allowed so many of them to even want to go on sometimes. This a testament to the strength and resilience of those of those generations (and indeed others) and all in the cropping of this single shot. Spectacular Scott.

I wish we had Men like this where I live. This is a Man, in the classic sense, who, if you sat beside him, would engage you in a mesmerizing conversation; give you his undivided attention; he would generously impart sweet, serene wisdom. He would chuckle and tap the place close by his side, and I would slide near, and he would tell me stories for hours. Maybe he would smell like something I forgot from my childhood. Oh, and he would still have that passion in his eyes. Oh, what a man this is!
