M65 Jacket with hood? Silhouette of pants is great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:37 AM) :

I love this look! I think it embodies a sophisticated, yet young sense of street style. I wish more people in America took the time to look a little more "put together" especially in Boston.

It's so classic and simple. Good to see that the classics are still alive!

Green navy, navy chinos, and brown shoes! LOVE that!

Especially the chinos, like this ACNE one:

Have a fantastic day!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:03 AM) :

The hat and shoes make this outfit. Much more interesting than the black trousers, black shoes man in the background. Great contrast of the man in the front and the man behind.

I've got a strong suspicion that this is a friend of mine from London! Would make sense, he spends a lot of time in paris and nyc as he is in the art world. Can you confirm scott? I may need to call and ask him, looks exactly like him...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 PM) :

Something about the hat with the hood of the Barbour is a little awkward, but love everything else.

Blogger MSlattery said ... (2:10 PM) :

I know what you're saying: a Borselino can make the most awkward get-up look a whole lot better, right?

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:31 PM) :

I really think that you all are over thinking this guys look... I really don't think he thinks twice about anything, but somehow still manages to pull of some semblance of style...

Anonymous HMS said ... (3:10 PM) :

While I do like the hat (especially with thr glasses) and like the jacket on their own, do not like them as a combination.

The reason being is the hood. That hat makes the hood non-functioning. A hood does not add any style if it is made irrelevant by the head gear.

Lose the hood and dude is rockin it. Lose the hood and add a scarf and the brother is on fire.

Anonymous salata said ... (3:25 PM) :

funny posture

But to add a positive note: Love you site, watch it every morning before I get dressed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

Yes, this one has a touch of style, like I like it. Very nice indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

From the angle of this shot he kind of looks like the friendly giant the clothes are terrible though I mean come on this is just awful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:32 PM) :

Mmmm... very interesting! Reminds me a little of Jaquest Tati, a great male style icon; great shapes, but I don't really get de this color combo...

Anonymous Paul (UK) said ... (5:39 PM) :

Nice Barbour (yay for the UK!) and I'm right with the tan shoes... but the high trouser hem/cuff blows it for me - on some it looks stylish cool, on others, like the wearer just ignored the fit. This says the latter to me... maybe its the socks, but I don't think so :-) If great style is great fit, this ain't doing it for me...

Think the sunglasses might be great tho!

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:00 PM) :

does anyone else notice the weirdness of this man's posture? like stop-motion or something. this is not my favourite photograph :/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 PM) :

Meh ... not really "getting" this. His pants are terrible (and too short!)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:58 AM) :

Are you sure that the picture is taken in Paris and not Rome?
I recognize the obelisk/the monolith in the background from Rome.. but I might be mistaken

Cheers!

/Mag.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 AM) :

I love the socks and the shoes but the pants are cut far too high. I always find brown or tan shoes to be much more fashionable, but Im not understanding this trend toward 'high-water' pants cut, as I wore when I was about 17 or 18. ...well what comes around goes around I guess! :-) Jack

Blogger Heavycats said ... (11:02 AM) :

the farmer with the hat i supposed is just arrived in the city???

Blogger Lindsey Dixon said ... (2:50 PM) :

I'm loving the combo of the hat and the jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:52 PM) :

Unless there's going to be a great flood, the short pant length is so over. If you have a pair of awesome ankle boots with embellishments, then go ahead and hike up the pant length. Otherwise wearing the correct inseam length is still the best sartorial rule to follow, especially with that style of shoe. Now and forever to infinity, pants that are pegged or flood length are never stylish, was never stylish and will never be stylish. Remember, long lengthy legs--on both men and women--always look great! If this gentleman had on a pair of funky socks, then his short floods would've worked. On a positive note, the color of his pants is vivid and beautiful. His oiled cloth jacket is great along with his fedora and Ray Bans (?)!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:59 PM) :

Fantastic combination between jacket and pants. Love that man's jacket, really cool!

Blogger Jeff said ... (1:00 PM) :

That Paris snow sure cleared up in a hurry.

Blogger anthony said ... (1:26 AM) :

When the shoes fit the leg that is wonderful. The shots of the women below are a disaster which prove that you can look daft however lovely your body.

Anonymous Antonia said ... (10:00 AM) :

Well put together but not sure about the short pants!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

The much loved Barbour bedale waxed oilskin is the core of any gentlemen's wardrobe. The detachable hood with a hint of tartan crosses this country icon onto the streets subtly. The colour combination of the tortoise shell wayfarers, hat and beard is fierce. The ribbed socks pull off the cropped trousers. Many sub-genres meet, fifties americana x british country side x japanese urban wear via Wataynabe. This man needs a hound.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:18 PM) :

The tortoise frames on his sunglasses bring everything together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:32 PM) :

Sorry those pants are ridiculous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:04 AM) :

I so don't get the shrunken pant look. Totally styleless, looks like a schoolboy who's outgrown his trousers - or like many Madrilenos, mainly accountants! In my country, pants have to hit around half an inch above the ground, whether male or female, and I have my pants specifically hemmed to wear with different heel heights. forget about the hood/hat thing which is ridiculous.

Anonymous cathy said ... (8:31 AM) :

Did you put this picture in to make the others on the page look even better? :-)

Anonymous el mundo en un espejo said ... (3:42 AM) :

What fantastic shoes!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:35 PM) :

This is how you do it!
I believe the sunglasses must be moscot and the look is perfect!
Bought the same shoes today in suede, this guy inspired me. The barbour is not my thing but a upland woolen mills can do the same for me. But this guy knows what he is doing for sure.

Anonymous redhotncool said ... (10:27 AM) :

The shoes are terrible, pants are terrible, jacket is terrible, but the look is perfect, style is great. And it is all about the style. Great combination. Thx for the inspiration:))

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:26 AM) :

I love the shoes, so much. I want a pair; I don't care that they are mens' shoes.

Blogger bloggerofwrath said ... (4:52 AM) :

Why is he standing like that? I like the look though especially with that beard.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

The primary subject looks as if he is about to beg for longer pants.

Blogger Sixty Bricks said ... (8:36 PM) :

definite pants problem

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:21 PM) :

Are some commenters here having a laugh?? Shame! Lauding short hem pants exposes advocates as either masters of sarcasm or appallingly deficient in style. If latter, claim the former, so you won't look foolish. Integrity be damned. DA

Anonymous Herbet said ... (5:17 PM) :
