The different textures of the pieces of his outfit work really well together, although I would never have thought a camel overcoat over a tweedy body warmer could work, he really pulls it off here!

Love the color combination of the brown herringbone vest and the purple scarf. The color of the grommet on the vest is also playing the nice role. The amount of the heather grey sweater underneath the vest is perfect. But the most important one in this picture is his tanned face!

Blogger haikarapaprika said ... (3:08 PM) :

The texture of the tweed vest and the pop of the purple scarf are nice touches to the fairly monochromatic ensemble. I'm also intrigued by the rounded shape of the vest pockets...

I definitely look forward to more fabulous outfits from Pitti Uomo - some of my favorite images by the Sartorialist are from Firenze.

Great combination, and what a wonderful vest, but what I like most about the image is that the subject is in control--of his look and of the image. My eyes bounce around, but always land back on his face and I'm drawn in and want to engage him. Very nice shot.

(Love the blog.)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 AM) :

This is man's look is really beyond commentary, it's that complete, that together.

Blogger 82Brute said ... (12:30 PM) :

Anorak instead of a trench, yes? I believe we'll be seeing a lot of these this spring. Wonderful layering, the scarf takes this look to another level. Another great face! Your blog is making me want to do two things 1) put my blue jeans away for a while and 2) better appreciate the character in my own aging face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:59 PM) :

I like the maroon scarf with the vest, which has edging in what looks like a brownish maroon. That tweedy look for the vest is wonderful, I like it with the thinness of the jacket, puffy vs. thin. The pants and grey sweater are nothing special, but the top layers make it. Yes, he has an interesting face.

Blogger Aubrey and Melissa said ... (1:16 PM) :

awesome vest.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:45 PM) :

I love his direct look at the viewer. Confidence just shines from his face. And that vest? Just a wonderful article of clothing. I could see it with so many variations and looking good with all of them.

Blogger TheHypeAround... said ... (11:18 PM) :

He is the epitome of cool. Self assured with a scarf and, what? A tweed down vest!

Marvelous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:54 AM) :

Grey and beige works rarely, in my view, and he does it so well, maybe because of all the different tones (and the purple scarf).

Also TWEED sailor's vest? Such things they have these days. Amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 AM) :

so 45rpm.....

Blogger Mary Kathryn Chambers said ... (9:51 AM) :

Wow!! First, I love how the whole appearence is rugged, yet clean. Then I love how the purple pops amidst all of the neutral colors. It's not at all drab.

Anonymous proletarian Great Gatsby said ... (10:36 AM) :

Interesting fellow...fab color pallet. Were it not for the color of his skin the scene could be monochromatic with the exception of the flash of blue. Nice detail in the photo, Sart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 PM) :

where can i buy that vest?!

Anonymous wmc1117 said ... (10:43 AM) :

I absolutely love the whole outfit, but what specifically stands out to me is the scarf over the popped collar of the vest which affords just the perfect amount of beige herringbone to compliment the purple!

Blogger Mark Harris said ... (12:16 PM) :
