The clashing prints on his bottom's are really amazing!

Blogger Daniel Katie Nielsen Firstenberger said ... (3:36 PM) :

Love it.
Love the skirt and the shoes,
could do with a different jacket,
but hey, he still looks awesome.

^^^ seriously in need of some feedback on my photography.

Blogger Twins said ... (3:38 PM) :

great shoot!

Blogger The Lady Philosopher said ... (3:42 PM) :

His whole look is about self-expression. From the print to the booties.

He wears this well very organic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 PM) :

Nice shot, but I'm not crazy about this look tbh..

Anonymous Antonia at Swedish Love Affair said ... (3:46 PM) :

Hmm, I don't know..

Blogger Alba L. Magro said ... (3:48 PM) :

That's a curious skirt, but a nice combination indeed

Blogger Al said ... (3:50 PM) :

Great photo. I just love the woven skirt. The shoes are cool too.

Blogger 40 over 20 said ... (3:50 PM) :

hard to tell...pants or skirt...either way I really like it.

OpenID Juliet said ... (3:50 PM) :

Centre Street is actually one of my favorite places to do street photography -- so gritty and real and quintessentially New York.

His unkempt look and blissful ignorance of that fact that you're photographing him are great. A nice departure from your usual streetstyle shots.

Blogger comme fraiche said ... (3:51 PM) :

there are so many different street styles in NYC, it must be a fashion photographer's paradise

Blogger calla said ... (3:58 PM) :

i love the bright print against the grey, looks awesome.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:59 PM) :

just the other day, i had a conversation about how shocking Boy George's aesthetic was back when we were growing up... Now Boy George's aesthetic is a lot less shocking and we have this picture (and the man's lovely skirt) as evidence!

I actually LOVE the skirt and shoes!!!

Anonymous The Bohmerian said ... (4:06 PM) :

I love this native bohemian look. Yet I kind of wish the shoes were new and shiny which would of made the whole mix seem more deliberate.

Anonymous Tante Olivie said ... (4:15 PM) :

something about this, from this angle, is strangely sexy. the details. even the schlumpy hoodie - it doesn't have a standard collar. the skirt has a hidden pocket and the boots have the side zip. much love.

Blogger Marcel Da Chump said ... (4:16 PM) :

Yohji Yamamoto grunge ( in a good way).

Blogger It-Blogirls said ... (4:32 PM) :

Hi Scott! We have just published a post about Garance and you from Paris fashion week. There are pictures I took of both of you! You are so awesome together! Much love

Blogger Jackii said ... (5:18 PM) :

nice shoot!

Anonymous Evita said ... (5:29 PM) :

This looks so right on him. He just looks like he is comfortable in his skin and is not afraid to express it in his clothing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:32 PM) :

i don't really see his clothes. i see that he is relaxed w/ himself which saying alot for a guy w/ a skirt on : )

Very astonishing and remarkable skirt!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 PM) :

I want to meet this guy. I wish more men felt comfortable in sarongs. I am taken back to years spent in Indonesia where men knew how to make skirts look seriously tough and sexy.

Blogger ZHENYA ZHURAVLYOVA said ... (8:22 PM) :

oh! love this is style!!!!!!

Blogger Plain T-Shirt said ... (10:49 PM) :

Ahh such a good find in NYC, awesome boots.

Anonymous suzanne said ... (11:05 PM) :

this is what I think of when I think "street" fashion, unstudied and expressive. Bravo.

Blogger Jen of STYLE229 said ... (11:21 PM) :

wow, really cool outfit

Blogger beesandbugs said ... (11:56 PM) :

He's got interesting style, and it's a great photo! It speaks a lot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:27 AM) :

Great skirt! The jacket, hat, and boots look fab with it, but his confidence is his best accessory.

Anonymous E2 said ... (12:40 AM) :

This really speaks to me: the fabrics, the loose cut, the indian blanket print with the bold red, right down to the scuffed boots with matching socks. Moreover, he wears it so well, it almost becomes incidental that he is in a skirt.

Blogger Midge said ... (12:52 AM) :

Love that pattern.

Blogger paristempslibre said ... (1:12 AM) :

love the hat and the bottoms!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 AM) :

this is super cool!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:43 AM) :

This is a genuinely interesting look that combines being avante garde, stylish wearable all in one . Fantastic.

Anonymous Lucy said ... (3:04 AM) :

When I think of men in skirts, usually Jean Paul Gaultier comes to my mind. This guy can pull it off, too. It looks very natural and grungy on him.

Anonymous karnit said ... (4:26 AM) :

Asians really have that special sense of style

Blogger fashionmagnolia said ... (5:05 AM) :

bottom print pose!

Anonymous Marisa said ... (5:27 AM) :

I love how the skirt matches the socks..

Blogger V.V. said ... (5:32 AM) :

Cool skirt&print!

Blogger thwany said ... (7:36 AM) :

his style looks effortless.

Anonymous Key said ... (8:34 AM) :

I love a man who can - and will - wear a skirt. His looks like it was made from a vintage Pendleton blanket.

Blogger laurabuhler said ... (10:38 AM) :

I do love a man in a skirt. There is something terrifically sexy about a guy with this kind of nonchalance.

These rare birds are truly unbound by fashion norms, almost unaware of social convention.

Blogger Shervin Nassi said ... (10:53 AM) :

Authentic style! anything better?? love this guy! work it till the death!

Anonymous IS THIS IT? models review said ... (12:08 PM) :

No exactly my style - and generally the one I like the most...

Anonymous Tanuki1066 said ... (12:38 PM) :

Absolutely love it.Comfortable, relaxed and super-stylish. I wish more men would dress this fearlessly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:39 PM) :

I wish everyone's that brave when it comes to fashion!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 PM) :

I missed real street fashion photographs on this blog, and even i wasn't cehecking The Sartorialist for a while. But these days you came back. That's very nice.

Me encanta

Blogger Copper Etiquette said ... (2:30 PM) :

Just plain ole' hilarious, great pic

Anonymous The Styley said ... (6:15 PM) :

Love this angle, and the way the Chinese characters speak to the pattern on the skirt.

Anonymous Afrobrownies said ... (7:09 PM) :

Definitely of the breed of strangers you see for a brief moment but whose image will linger in your head hours afterwards. The type of person we all love to imagine a scenario about.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:22 PM) :

Wow. Gorgeously cool. How is it a guy in a skirt looks a thousand times more masculine than any guy in skinny jeans I've seen yet?

Blogger Parent 2 said ... (11:16 AM) :

Men seriously need to wear more skirts. This is very cool.

Anonymous kari said ... (6:50 PM) :

man wearing a skirt? that's brave. i love it!
